E3 May Move Away From L.A. Next Year

L.A. has been the home of E3 for quite a long time (with the exception of the temporary move to Santa Monica in 2007) so it's disappointing to hear that there's a possibility that it may not be in the same place next year (especially for those who live in the area).

It appears that the Entertainment Software Association (or ESA for short) is running into issues about securing access and enough floor space for the show next year since it will be happening at the same time as the construction of the Farmers Field Stadium.

"We need assurances on things like square footage, the quality of the space, the ease of loading and unloading equipment, signage throughout the convention center for marketing and sponsorships," said ESA president Michael Gallagher. "We love being in Los Angeles, but we also have a show to put on."

No alternative location has been announced at this point. Still, nothing is for certain yet and they're still working to resolve the issue so that they can proceed with announcing dates for next year's E3.
