God Eater 2 Is Coming, Promise!

For clarification, I'm not promising. The Tokyo Game Show announcement of God Eater 2 was the last that anyone heard of the sequel to what came to be known as Gods Eater Burst in the United States. It's producer Yusuke Tomizawa who is giving his word that God Eater 2 is on its way.

Tomizawa, via Twitter, has requested that fans wait a little while for news, implying that some is upcoming. According to him, the development team at Shift is developing God Eater 2 as a game that they believe all players will enjoy. All. That's bold, Tomizawa!

Basically, this is normal developer talk, but if news is truly on the horizon for the game, that is good news. Fans who played Gods Eater Burst last year are surely bucking for a chance to spend more time with this post-apocalyptic monster hunter-like would-be series.

The release date in Japan is set for some time later this year on PSP and, given the time between the US and Japanese release, means that we won't see it until next year, if at all. Still, hold out hope, because stranger things have happened.

Release it on Vita and help the new platform out!
You better promise, it's like the only Monster Hunter-ish game I've liked. I'm pretty doubtful of a localized version, or anytime soon.... since the original took a pretty long time to get localized (sure, I think a part of it had to do with switching from the original to the Burst). At this point I think I would agree with wanting a Vita version, because the original seemed to push the hardware a fair bit and I have reason to believe it's partially due to hardware constraints that the sequel is taking some time to make.
