PC indie
La-Mulana has has a rather rich, slightly confusing, history. The indie game originally started development way back in 2001 in Japan. Trial to final releases were made from 2002 to 2006. At that point, it had the graphic styling of a MSX (Japanese retro computer). It's a metroidvania style game and ever since release has been an interesting title. It was meant to be ported to WiiWare this year by Nigoro but then was cancelled for US/EU. This version of the game was a remake and even have an official English translation but western fans were told to wait. Instead of publishing for the small WiiWare audience they would instead just bring it to PC.
That day has finally arrived as La-Mulana is now available via Playism Games. Global indie publisher Playism has only just launched themselves on Friday, but hopefully their acquiring of La-Mulana will draw much attention to them. The game is $15 but something that many gamers have been looking forward to. If you're not sure if this is a game you want then you can download a demo by clicking the "Can you run..." button.
Here's a video of the history of La-Mulana:
Do you think there's a need for more "global" indie publishers?
