New Dead Space In Development

According to a recent investor call, EA confirmed that a new Dead Space game will release in the current fiscal year, meaning sometime between now and March 2013. Game Informer was told to expect more details at E3, where it's expected that EA will officially announce the title.

Though the game's title and story have yet to be confirmed, rumors have been pointing it being Dead Space 3, and according to rumors from Siliconera, the game will take place on an icy planet called Tau Volantis instead of in space. Also, the same rumors indicate that Isaac Clarke will be undertaking a rescue mission while on the run from authorities.

As always, you should take the rumors with a grain of salt until confirmed otherwise. Of course, we've discussed what we've liked to see happen in Dead Space 3, so we'll get a chance to find out what the game is like when E3 comes around next month.

Do you think the new title is Dead Space 3, and if so, do you think the rumors are true about its setting?

It's probably Dead Space 3 although I think there are a few other DS games in the works. As far as the setting goes, I'm disappointed. While I loved Dead Space 1 and 2, the lonesome deep space setting of Dead Space 1 was better and built a more frightening atmosphere.
@Tyler, I haven't played the second one yet, but I do love the first. So the second one, you're not lonely like the first? Hm. How's the story in the second compared to the first?
I loved both games, but I think they are leaning too much toward the action side of things. I actually thought Dead Space 2 had a good balance of horror elements and action/adventure sequences and would hope that the third would follow suit. Unfortunately, the game is starting to sound more like Lost Planet with the co-op and the setting. Plus the game apparently has giant insects in it just like that game.
This is one game series I haven't tried yet, though I would like to at some point. I liked what I've heard about DS 1 and 2 and played a bit of the DS Iphone game and thought that was pretty fun. I'm all for changes as long as they are able to incorporate the same elements that made the games so great to begin with.
