Earlier, media conglomerate Time Warner had a Q4 2012 earnings call with investors. After the call transcript was posted on Yahoo! Finance, gaming sites quickly caught wind of something which was revealed during it. That information was simple confirmation of a new game in the Batman Arkham series coming this year.

Here is the exact statement:

"And we also have a strong games release this year, which will include the next release in the Batman Arkham franchise. So all in all, we expect Warners to post another very strong year in 2013."

With that said, it was not like gamers didn't expect more games in the series. What is currently unknown is whether developer Rocksteady Studios will be behind this latest game or not. They developed both 2009's Batman: Arkham Asylum and 2011's Batman: Arkham City.
