Now seems a popular time for the monster hunting games who have been hiding since the Tokyo Game Show to start peeking out. God Eater 2 may have promised an announcement, but Monster Hunter 4 isn't here to promise news for the future. No, Capcom is here to show us some of the goods in the form of a trailer.Given the smattering of monster hunting games, people may get the feeling that the market is a bit oversaturated with the genre. Monster Hunter 4 seems all to aware of this, making a coy reference to it by having the game itself being so oversaturated and colorful! Surely that was their intention!
Aside from the bright colors, though, a good deal of gameplay is revealed. A hunter digs in a monster's nest, gathering until the nest's owner drops the corpse of what looks sorta like an Aptonoth. The action stars up, showing off all manner of abilities, including clinging attacks, dive attacks, and other things learned through the series, and possibly through the recent Dragon's Dogma.
Monsters new and old show up, including a Rathalos and Tigrex, and some new creatures, including an agile fox monster thing and a giant silhouetted dragon-looking creature.
Enough of that, though, check out the trailer for yourself below!
Maybe the biggest reveal in the trailer is the release date, which says, "2013 Spring" for Japan. No date for the US yet, but Monster Hunter 4 will be on the 3DS.

As far as the game itself goes, the gameplay looks great. Graphically, the textures looks pretty awful but maybe they will improve them over the next 9 months or so. Either way it's going to sell a gagillion copies.
