No Fees for Wii U's Online Service

There's no question that Nintendo's "friend code" thing is a bit...unimpressive. But Nintendo has heard our pleas for a better online service and is giving us the Miiverse with the release of the Wii U. But the question is, will we have to pay for it? Will there be some fee like we have with Xbox Live Gold? Nintendo president Satoru Iwata has recently answered these questions at the company's annual shareholder's meeting, and no, we will not have to pay extra to use their new online service on the Wii U.However, Mr. Nintendo did not deny the possibility of requiring users of devices separate from the Wii U to pay extra to connect to the Nintendo Network. He mentioned that requiring paid subscriptions for an upcoming console is a bad idea, and that allowing users to use it for free will encourage hardware and software sales.
How do you feel about Nintendo's upcoming online service?
