Not too long ago, it was rumored that an HD remastered version of Sonic Adventure 2 would be released on Xbox Live Arcade in October. The posting on Xbox.com was quickly taken down after being placed, but it seems that the game wasn't a lie. SEGA has officially announced that Sonic Adventure 2 HD will indeed be released on XBLA, as well as PlayStation Network. The official announcement was made at SEGA's own Sonic Boom event during Comic-Con. And pretty few people were actually expecting such an announcement since the initial rumor had reasons for people to be skeptical (namely the fact that the listing for it was taken down before 99% of the world could even see it for themselves). But disregarding everyone's expectations, the HD adventure is official.
SEGA has been initiating something called SEGA Heritage, and as part of that they have decided to bring the Dreamcast game into the HD realm this Fall. When the game was originally released back in 2001, the game got plenty of fantastic reviews, and an updated version was even released for the Nintendo GameCube. And with Sonic Adventure having been released on XBLA to celebrate the Dreamcast's 11th birthday, it's about time Sonic Adventure 2 followed suit (and in HD, no less).
Are you a fan of the original Sonic Adventure 2? Are you excited about this HD remake?
