Always entertained the idea of importing a white PS3 (and PS2 back in the day) but always decided against it because of cost. So technically this should be a godsend for me right? Not really digging this "bundle", and I still prefer the phat design over the slim and super slim, and the slim over the super slim. Maybe one day I'll actually import a console for the hell of it but I'll be skipping this one.
I'm tempted to get this for upstairs, but haven't made up my mind yet. It's still a lot of dough to drop on an older system.
I dunno about you Ludo, but if I were to be tempted by an import... it would have definitely been for the Xillia or Lightning PS3 :)

There have been several where I got *this* close to pulling the trigger, but I simply couldn't spend twice the price on a system with ultimately a different paint job.
Here are some of the most tempting ones.

One Piece - I wish I had this much money to burn... $759 on Playasia
Ni No Kuni - On sale now actually *only* $489 + S/H on Playasia
FF - Saw this in a store whilst in Japan for around $400 USD... but decided to pass it over... Playasia $599.00
Xillia - Simply, yet elegent. $579
MGS - Actually the first PS3 import I had ever considered near the release of MGS4... $899.99
White FF - Nicer than the other IMO
Ugh I want that pretty Ni no Kuni one
The Xillia one is also gorgeous
So...basically they're saying that they're giving you these games that you'll get anyway by having a Plus membership. Great bundle, Sony.

Although if I needed a PS3, this would still be the way I'd go since I like the look and the price isn't bad.
Geez guys cut me some slack I'm drooling over here. So many pretty consoles and I just have a regular black slim. That Lightning one has always been one of my favorite consoles ever. Also the black Lightning one is pretty sweet. They will probably release another Lightning version with the new FF game.

I have always preferred white consoles for some reason so when I first saw the white super slim I knew that I really wanted it. Now that I know what comes with the 1 year bundle I almost want to trade in my current system for it.
Ive almost imported most of those at one time or another, Ludo. I live their themed systems. I remember bringing a teal gamecube/controller back from Japan. American "bundle" ps3 systems are just garbage... even M$ releases themed systems. The systems are region free, so not like they need to do a whole lot to bring them over.

Agreed Japan just doesn't want to share with us for obvious reasons of the past. Can't blame them we should be happy they even let us have video games at all xD
Would Japanese PS3s even work here with our higher voltage electricity?
