Torment: Tides of Numenera Delayed

Torment Torment: Tides of Numenera

It's a sad day for Torment: Tides of Numenera backers. In their latest Kickstarter update, Project Lead Kevin Saunders briefly talks about the game not being able to reach their original December 2014 release date.

However, this rain cloud has a silver lining, as explained in the update:

"We purposely designed Torment to be modular so that, if we had additional funding, we could easily expand upon the game in ways that would make sense. Your support has exceeded our expectations. It is clear to us that to create as high quality a final product as we desire, and as you deserve, we’re going to want more time than we had in our original schedule."

Apparently the huge amount of support of fans, and the Kickstarter reaching most of the original stretch goals, so the team is going to need more time to implement everything and give backers a great final product. This may upset some fans, but the extra time will help ensure everything is included in the final product.

What do you think of Torment: Tides of Numenera's delay?

I'm not really sure I trust inXile here...they've raised millions of dollars for games that won't even see the light of day for over a year, so what are they even spending all that money on? Not to mention their update after that one urges people to help them reach $4M...it's one thing to go ridiculously over funding, but another thing to encourage people to still give more.

But, hey, in the early months of 2015, when I've completely forgotten about this game, I may suddenly hear about it releasing and being the bestest game evar, so I'll just hope it's all for the best.
