A new Marvel vs. Capcom release is coming out, but this time, it's a little less retail and a little more digital distribution. Marvel vs. Capcom Origins is a compilation of Marvel Super Heroes and Marvel vs. Capcom: Clash of Super Heroes. The superheroic combo releases on Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network for 1200 MSP/$14.99, and sports a few upgrades. The trailer below will probably make the HD graphic upgrades the most obvious thing, but aside from that, Marvel vs. Capcom Origins will use GGPO's services for online play, ideally decreasing the latency one would experience playing this with others, as well as eight-player lobbies and spectator modes.
Players gonna play, and when they do, they can play with dynamic challenges. Once the dust has settled from punching and kicking enemies, Marvel vs Capcom Origins allows for replays to be saved, as well as stuff to be unlocked.
All of this should look familiar with last August's release of Street Fighter III: Third Strike Online Edition, even down to the price. Instead of that August release date, however, Capcom seems keen on celebrating the two constituent games' North American console releases by giving Marvel vs. Capcom Origins a September release date.
