Rumor: Ex-Bioware Employee (Supposedly) Leaks Info About DLC
Mar 25 2012 03:48 PM | Kat Leonard in Rumors
Well... it's been quite a weekend with multiple leaks of various games coming out. First it was GTA V. Now it's a former Bioware employee for Mass Effect 3.Beware, here be spoilers:
“Javik [bonus character from the 'From Ashes DLC] was originally from Terminator, but they bumped him up because they felt that ME3′s cast was too small. Terminator is about the part [sic] crash landing on a Prothean planet on the edge of Sol, and then they have to figure out a way to make contact with the rest of the system and get off the planet.”
Shepard is alive, but supposedly "badly injured and in a coma" (though not like he was in ME2, obviously). He also is able to have his synthetic parts replaced with new ones, which are 'donated' by EDI. Shepard finally awakes (this time faster than two years, thank God) and finds out he has to end a new war, the war of Sol.
Following that you get a unique cutscene based on who you romanced in the previous games.
The employee also detailed a new title called Mass Shift which seems to move further towards action/third person shooter and away from RPG.
He goes on to explain:
“Mass Shift is not Mass Effect 4. Mass Shift will involve the same universe, characters, and story, but it will be more action-oriented. Space flight, for example, will be as intricate as ME3′s combat. In Mass Shift, you will actively fly Murmur, a Reaper that is controlled by Catalyst. Storyboards have not been drawn up for exactly how this will work yet, but when we came up with the initial concept, we were comparing flight to “Gradius III and Kingdom Hearts 2′, and the relationship between the Catalyst and Murmur was compared to the oen between the boy and the monster in “The Last Guardian”.
It all sounds good but who knows if this guy is the real deal, or even if the information is sound. Stick this firmly in the 'rumor box' right now and don't get too excited over it, I would say.
