Fez, an indie game that was initially announced in 2007 and is now five years in the making, finally has a release date it would seem. According to the Polytron website (thanks IGN), that date is April 13th (which, coincidentally, is also Friday the 13th).
The gameplay in Fez sees the levels shifting in perspective from 2D to 3D, not unlike the main mechanics in Super Paper Mario and the more recent Crush 3D, but in this game, the world shifts by rotating. And despite not even being out yet, the game has already won several awards, including the grand prize most recently at the Independent Game Festival (IGF) awards.
You can find out what all the fuss is about when the game releases in two weeks on XBLA for 800 MS points.
