While much of Nintendo's Fall releases had been dated already (such as the upcoming 3DS title Fantasy Life and Wii U action game Bayonetta 2), release dates for two big Wii U titles had yet to be announced until yesterday.
The first and arguably biggest is that Super Smash Bros. for Wii U is finally confirmed to be releasing on Nov. 21, just before the start of the holiday shopping season. Also confirmed for release on the same day is the first line of Amiibo figures, which includes Mario, Peach, Yoshi, Donkey Kong, Link, Fox, Samus, Wii Fit Trainer, Villager, Pikachu, Kirby and Marth. A newly announced second wave will release later in December, which will include Zelda, Diddy Kong, Luigi, Little Mac, Pit and Captain Falcon.
Super Smash Bros. for Wii U was announced as being the first title that will support the use of Amiibo (which you simply tap to the Wii U Gamepad to activate). Other upcoming games that will also make use of them include Yoshi's Wooly World and Mario Party 10. Mario Kart 8 will also support them at a later date through an update, though no specific info was announced at this time.
Last but not least, Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker will be arriving on Dec. 5. Captain Toad's confirmation is no doubt a relief for many North American fans as it was widely speculated that the title would be pushed back to 2015 as it was for European territories recently.
