Company of Heroes 2 might not be available for purchase until June 25th but that doesn't mean you can't get a shot at playing it until then. Today the game's open beta became available on Steam for interested parties to check out.
Here's what producer Greg Wilson had to say about the open beta:
"We've added new match-making servers, implemented a significant amount of Closed Beta feedback and fixed more bugs, compatibility and performance issues than I can count. The team will continue to read comments and feedback in our official forums and participate in regular playtests with the community. We“ll be patching the beta frequently and getting into a good rhythm for our post launch support cycle. Please keep the comments and suggestions coming – we do care and are listening!"
Those who level up a lot during the beta can even transfer those skills and upgrades over to the full game when it becomes available. However, players who wish to make use of this transfer will need to buy Company of Heroes 2 within 60 days of launch.
In order to try out the beta, you simply have to find it on your Steam Library and install. The beta period lasts from now until Company of Heroes 2 launches near the end of the month.
