Runbow developer 13AM Games' next title is Double Cross

Jason Clement

13AM Games' colorful platformer Runbow has been a modest hit for the indie developer over the past few years, releasing first on Wii U and then subsequently on other platforms. Now the Canadian indie team is ready to unveil its next game.

Double Cross is an action-adventure game that puts players into the role of Zahra -- an agent of an interdimensional peace-keeping agency called R.I.F.T. (Regulators of Interdimensional Frontiers and Technology) -- as she investigates an attack on the organization by an unknown assailant and must uncover their nefarious plans.

One big aspect of the game will give players the ability to custom tailor their own play style by collecting Upgradium and using it to level up and unlock new R.I.F.T. gear. The game's adventure style investigation system also lets players tackle levels in the order they want.

Double Cross is currently being planned for release on Nintendo Switch and Steam later this year. If you're going to PAX East, you'll be able to demo the game if you stop by publisher Grafitti Games' booth.

Be sure to check out the game's initial trailer below.

This looks fun. Not amazing, but worth checking out at the right price. (like $15 or less, hopefully)

I would guess $20 since I think that's where Runbow launched at. 13AM Games seems to be going for the same quality bracket as Image & Form (Steamworld series), so the price doesn't seem too farfetched, but I know what you mean.
