Starting yesterday, the word got out that Sony was sending messages to certain customers. Basically, they were sent to some users so far with $10 in credit to be spent on the PlayStation Store. There has been no announced promotion or contests as of late so it seems something done simply to encourage more spending on the store.
Here is what the message sent from Sony says, courtesy of NeoGAF:
"Thank you for being a loyal customer and fan of PlayStation Network. As a token of our appreciation, we've sent you $10.00 to spend on the PlayStation Store."
There are many in North America who have confirmed getting the credit for their account. Does it only reach people with PS Plus or is it possible any PSN user can be flagged to receive it? These details are currently unclear especially when not everyone with Plus has gotten credit. Regardless, it's a nice way to surprise some customers.
Did you get the $10 credit?
