Three New Lego Games on the Horizon: Legends of Chima

John Kidman

The world of Chima is in peril as the inhabitants are at war over a highly coveted natural resource known as CHI. Do not fret if you have never heard of this particular world in the Lego universe. Lego Legends of Chima is a fresh, new line that will introduce LEGO fans to the wonderful world of anthropomorphism. Information surrounding this new franchise is a bit slim, but the newest Lego sets have already hit some retail shelves and its design is quite promising.

This new line of Lego is being released throughout 2013, alongside a wealth of impressive branding. Cartoon Network shall be the home for a new television show titled Legends of Chima this month, following in the footsteps of the popular Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitsu. Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment also announced that new LEGO games will also be clawing their way into the limelight.

WB Interactive and TT Games have a clear defined path laid out before them, which coincides quite nicely with the introduction of Chima line. This new franchise will make its gaming debut today with the iOS release of Legends of Chima: Speedorz. Speedorz is a racing title that aims to introduce interesting new locales, vehicles and characters. Lego fans looking for more depth will have a slightly longer wait.

Lego Legends of Chima: Laval“s Journey, designated as an official adventure, is scheduled as a summer release in 2013 for the 3DS and Playstation Vita. Unfortunately, the standard DS version will not be seen until this fall. LEGO Legends of Chima Online, the third game to be released, is a free-to-play title that will allow players to customize their land and explore new areas. Players will also earn points by playing through Laval“s Journey and Speedorz, which are then used to unlock content for Legends of Chima Online via the “Chima Vault.”

Are you interested in this Lego franchise or do you only hold a candle for licensed Lego games?
