![]() Podunk Editor | Worth Your Koins: Promotional Copies of Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance Worth Your Koins: Promotional Copies of Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance ![]() ![]() ![]() Attention Mortal Kombat fans and game-collectible enthusiasts! Rejoice, because we just received word that rare promo issues of Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance are available for a short time in limited quantities! According to our research, this particular game was originally manufactured by Midway back in 2006, to be “bonus gifts” with pre-orders of Mortal Kombat Armageddon. Since then, these limited runs of Deadly Alliance never saw a separate retail release until today. That’s because online retailer, GameQuest Direct, has exclusively obtained the last 1018 units from Midway with the warrant to sell them as collectible merchandise. So what distinguishing factors set this edition apart to make it valuable? Well, in addition to its origin of production, limited availability, and the current scarcity in the market, this version of Deadly Alliance still displays the coveted Sony UPC sticker on top. If you've recently made any purchases for the PlayStation, you’ll know that Sony no longer manufactures video games with UPC seals. Also, be mindful that these are not demos or reprints, but the actual full-featured game. From what we can tell, Midway released two editions of Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance for Playstation 2. The regular print, which is somewhat available today as a used copy, has the UPC 031719268665. As for this featured edition, the UPC is 031719900329. That's not all, though! Even if both copies embrace the all-too-familiar greatest hits label, this limited promotional edition has a different art insert where the cover is specially marked, “Promotional Copy, Not For Resale.” We have luckily received some copies of our own and took pictures so you could see a sample of what this rare edition actually looks like. Satisfy the true collector in you, and don’t settle for a commonly found used copy when you can still get it new! Remember: these copies won’t be on sale forever, as the last batch only contained a little over a thousand units. With news of Midway recently being bought out, these could possibly be the last games to ever don the Midway logo. Own your part of history (not to mention a great game) by purchasing Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance Limited Promotional Edition from GameQuest Direct, priced at $39.99. About Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance is the fifth game in the highly-acclaimed Mortal Kombat franchise and was released on November 2002 across multiple platforms. The game can arguably be viewed as the revival of the Mortal Kombat franchise, since most gamers considered this release the main turnaround for the series after its slump in the late 90s. It introduced the modes "Krypt" and "Konquest" to the series, and included a new fighting system that had characters equipped with 3 different fighting styles; two martial arts styles and one weapon-based style. Deadly Alliance is also the only fighting game in the Mortal Kombat franchise to not include Liu Kang in its playable roster. About GameQuest Direct Established in 1989, online retailer and distributor GameQuest Direct, specializes in servicing the largest selection of new and rare video games. Headquartered in Buena Park, California, GameQuest Direct is most known for reprints of previously out-of-print titles for various game consoles including Gitaroo Man, Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne, and the Fatal Frame series for the PlayStation 2. | Podunk Scholar | Re: Worth Your Koins: Promotional Copies of Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance The product looks great, and i'd probably buy it if I weren't so tight with money as it is. Thank you for sharing regardless, and I hope some people enjoy this.

This is sweet considering Deadly Alliance was never included in the PS2 Mortal Kombat Collection which is how I have Shoalin Monks, Deception, and Armageddon. | |||||||||||

![]() Podunk Editor | Re: Worth Your Koins: Promotional Copies of Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance They've recently been bought out by Warner Bros. Interactive. It's still kind of up in the air as to whether or not they will keep the Midway logo.
