25 Things About Me: Cloud Strife

Social networking and personal websites are all the rage now-a-days: they give friends and family a chance to connect and learn more about each other. Even many celebrities have websites or facebook accounts, allowing fans to learn more about their favorite stars. What if our favorite video game characters, both established and new, had their own twitter, myspace, or facebook page? What kinds of fun facts could we learn when they're speaking openly, from their point of view?

Game Podunk is proud to introduce our fun new series, 25 Things About Me, where we will have fun with a video game character, creating their list of 25 things about themselves, as if written from their point of view. Although much of the information included in these lists will come from facts about the character from their games, we've also used our imagination to fill in some of the blanks! So enjoy! We hope you'll have as much fun reading these as we've had writing them.

Our third character is Cloud Strife, a popular character from Square-Enix's Final Fantasy VII.

25 Things About Me: Cloud Strife

1. …. I'd rather not talk about my childhood.

2. The Buster Sword belongs to my friend Zack... and you can ask him where he got it.

3. To keep your hair as spiky as mine, you have to... actually, no, you’d just have to be born with it.

4. I’ve always had blue eyes - it's just that the Mako makes them glow greenish/blue.

5. I don’t like being called names, so avoid using words like “emo,” “metrosexual,” and “spiky head” around me.

6. Even today, people still ask how they can revive Aerith in the game. (Sigh)

7. Delivering items is not too bad as a profession… guess it’s better than being out of work.

8. Sometimes, I think Tifa knows me better than I know myself.

9. If you don’t know why I never sit next to Yuffie on the Highwind, then I know you haven't met her yet.

10. My favorite thing to do? Taking a long ride on Fenrir.

11. No, I won’t get you a Black Chocobo for your birthday, but I wish you luck in breeding them.

12. No, I don’t fly, but I can jump very far and high over a long period of time. It’s not the same thing….

13. No, sending fan mails with Aeriths’ or Zacks’ signature is not going to make me read them.

14. A place my friends and I go to sharpen our skills and limit breaks? The battle arena, of course….

15. If it seems like I’m struggling fighting Sephiroth, keep in mind his sword is lighter and longer than mine.

16. .... (sigh) This is a long list....

17. Cid once dug up a mop from the Bone Village - for all the time spent on digging, I insisted he use it as a weapon. It was pretty useful, to my surprise….

18. There's a dark side to everyone. Guess that explains the way I look in Kingdom Hearts.

19. What happens at Honey Bee Inn, stays at Honey Bee Inn.

20. Many people ask if I collect swords for a hobby or just carry a lot of spares. It’s little bit of both.

21. My greatest rival? You would think it’s Sephiroth, but it’s actually Mario…

22. Marlene says I smile more often now - I guess that's a good thing.

23. If I had to come up with a title for the next horror movie from Square-Enix, I would call it “J-E-N-O-V-A.” Is that too predictable?

24. Want to know how many video games, anime, movies, and action figures I've appeared in? Don't ask me, ask Tetsuya Nomura.

25. Am I working on a Final Fantasy 7 remake for PS3? Strictly confidential….
