Atlus Sends Out a Rather Odd Email

Recommended Posts

UPDATE: If you mess with the contrast and brightness of the image instead, you get angular bits in the picture as well. These look strikingly similar to a certain game's logo...

If you're a subscriber to Atlus's newsletter, Atlus Faithful, then you might have just gotten a rather strange email. "_____" is all that appears in the subject and a blank, black image is all that seemingly shows up in the message body. I decided to do a bit of tinkering, though, and see if something would show up.

This is what shows up in the email without any editing.

Throw the black image into Paint, use the paint bucket tool with white as your color, and you'll get something that shows up something like this...

"STAY TUNED"...? What could that possibly mean? Possibly another game announcement from Atlus, or maybe they're just pulling our legs with something small. Nonetheless, we better heed the message they've sent and see what this could possibly mean.

What do you think this message is about? If it's a game announcement, what game do you think it could be for?

I think it's about Persona 4: The Golden or something else Persona-related. "Stay tuned" can really mean anything but it is often used with TV shows, and P4 has to do with TVs, so it's a pretty logical possibility. :)

But Catherine had a television theme too! Either way I'm paying attention. Persona games are always fun.

Updated the post... Looks like it's probably for Persona 4 the Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena :)

I've been wondering about that game. Looked it up a few days ago but there was no new info.

Really cool marketing tactic. I love it when companies are all cryptic and you have to do some investigation. ^_^

I agree :D It made me really pumped up to mess around with the image in hopes of finding something and then discovering that hidden message!

Siiiiigh, yet another reason for me to nab a Vita - damn you Sony! Why must you make me throw my money at you!

Mayonaka Arena is PS3/360... :3

I'm surprised the console version of Mayonaka Arena seems like is being announced over the Vita title (well, before at least), but as a fan of Arc System Works (the games, not their business practices...) as well as Persona 3/4, I'm definitely looking forward to the game regardless. I just hope is doesn't suffer from re-release/dlc character/balance update syndrome like a certain fighting game I enjoy from them...
