  1. DC just showed the longest look at Justice League yet with today's sneak peek at SDCC 2017. Warning: if you don't want to know much about the movie, then probably don't watch this. They show quite a bit. Anyhow, I'm looking forward to it, and knowing Whedon has control over the final edit makes me think this will be a lot better than most people thought it would be. Still not super sold on Ezra Miller as The Flash, but everyone else looks good, and it looks like there will be a lot of cool action setpieces throughout the film. A little surprised they're still holding back on showing Superman, even if he was teased at the very end. I just wonder how long they'll take to get him into the mix; will it be at the very end? What did you guys think? Did you like this trailer better than the last?
  2. If you haven't been watching, Gotham has been pretty good this season. I'd probably say it's the best the show has been so far, with major appearances by the Mad Hatter, the return of Jerome (who may or may not become the Joker), the Court of Owls, and a surprising turn of events between Oswald/The Penguin and Ed Nygma/The Riddler. Anyhow, the trailer for the rest of Season 3 dropped recently; take a look... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ylvzMOPJNXk Looking pretty good if you ask me. It appears they're going to close out the season by focusing mainly on the Court of Owls and a showdown between Bruce and his evil clone. Also, pretty cool that Bruce will finally get a mentor that teaches him how to fight (besides Alfred) and such. ALSO ALSO, Hugo Strange is coming back! That's always cool. Less enthused about Fish Mooney (Jada Pinkett Smith). And was that clip of Selina laying on the floor an indication that she might've died but been brought back to life (one of nine lives), signifying her transformation into Catwoman? Should be interesting to see. What do you guys think of the midseason trailer?
  3. Heyyyy, remember the TV show Krypton, and how it was announced to be in the works? Apparently it's close to airing now. Sometime this year. Here's the trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JjMPTB9Oodo First thoughts on it- - The CG and sets look surprisingly good for a SyFy show. Not to say that everything on SyFy is cheesy, but c'mon, admit it --- the first thing you think of when you think of SyFy are those cheese B-movies like Sharknado. - Looks surprisingly similar in tone to Gotham. - I'm wondering how compelling the overall arc will be. The story supposedly tells how the House of El helped bring Krypton out of a corrupt system, so I dunno. We'll see. - How many cameos do you think we'll get from existing DC villains and such? It seems pretty obvious we'll get appearances from General Zod's side of the family in addition to Brainiac. Maybe some references to Darkseid and Apokolips? What do you guys think? Are you interested in checking it out?
  4. My expectations aren't too high for the new Justice League movie coming out later this year, but I have to admit the new trailer that came out yesterday is actually not bad. The signature Zack Snyder slow-mo spin-around shots kind of make me roll my eyes, but everything else that they've shown looks pretty spot-on for what you'd expect of a comic-book movie team up of this calibur. Also, some observations- - Cool that we get our first glimpse of the parademons - The trailer goes way out of its way to sell the audience on Aquaman. It's pretty blatant, but I think Jason Momoa will pull it off and be a pretty memorable take on the character. - Where's Steppenwolf (the main villain)? I'll have to watch it a few more times to make sure I didn't miss him, but it's odd that they didn't show him if I'm correct about them skipping over him in this trailer. - On that same note, I can totally see them pulling the eleventh hour switcharoo and revealing that Darkseid is in the movie and is the overall baddie. I doubt they'll defeat him, but they'll force him to retreat by the end, I'm sure. - Cyborg seems cool, but the SFX on him seem a little weird to me. Am I the only one who thought this? - Thank goodness for Ben Affleck; once again, he seems like he'll be the best part of this film, though I have higher hopes for Gal Gadot, Jason Momoa and the other two than I did for BvS. What did you guys think of the trailer? Are you sold on the movie?
  5. Well this is kinda unexpected? http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat-vision/gotham-city-sirens-movie-david-ayer-margot-robbie-reteam-all-female-dc-villains-project-?utm_source=t.co&utm_medium=referral It looks like Warner Bros. went ahead and announced that a Gotham City Sirens movie is in the works and will once again star Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn and David Ayer will direct. If you're not familiar with Gotham City Sirens, it was a comic series that focused on Harley Quinn, Catwoman, and Poison Ivy. I'm actually a little surprised that they're heading in this direction, but then kinda not because everyone liked Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn, so it's natural that they want to keep a good thing going. But I wonder who they'll get to play Catwoman and Poison Ivy. Also, Suicide Squad sequel is still happening, but apparently this movie is further along in development. I still find it slightly funny that both Suicide Squad and this are happening before the bulk of more popular DC heroes get their own movie. What do you guys think? Are you looking forward to this at all?
  6. The third trailer for Suicide Squad dropped last night. What do y'all think of it? Personally, I'm not that excited for it anymore. I used to believe it could go either way (like it could be good or bad); after BvS, it seems more likely that this may just be sort of an okay/mixed review movie, but ultimately disappointing for those that were expecting a lot out of it. That's just the impression I get. Anyhow, it is cool that they're showing Batman in the trailers and such, but I doubt he's in it much beyond a flashback and maybe the end? We'll see. But yeah, what does everyone else think? Are you looking forward to it?
  7. Chances are most of you have seen the most recent trailer for DC's upcoming Suicide Squad. If you haven't, well, watch this anyhow. It's a literal interpretation of everything that's happening in the trailer. The bits about Will Smith not being in Independence Day 2 are the best, in addition to the literal bits about Harley being onscreen. I'll have to look for more videos like this. I've gotta say, this kind of format is way better than Honest Trailers (which are waaaay not funny now).
  8. Holy crap! This is awesome! A lot of new footage shown here. What do you guys think? Too much reveal? DC is definitely showing what they can do up against Marvel next year. I'm excited and man there is a lot going on with Gotham to Metropolis and then Doomsday and then stuff! Whew!

    CW's Supergirl Discussion

So has anyone else besides myself been watching Supergirl? I thought it's pretty good so far. Pilot episode weeks go went off with a bang hitting right away with the Supergirl reveal and stuff. Superman is present, but only mentioned. It looks to be a hit since it generated millions of views. Mondays with Gotham and Supergirl and Tuesdays with Flash and SHIELD are awesome. Anyways give your thoughts. We do have a lot of threads on superhero shows lol. Thought I add in the Supergirl thread.
  10. http://kotaku.com/jared-letos-joker-shows-up-in-leaked-suicide-squad-trai-1717282959 Don't think I can embed the video type here, so you'll have to skip on over to Kotaku to watch it. It's not half-bad, and I'm pretty interested to see how it all plays out. Oh, and Jared Leto's Joker does make an appearance as well, so there's that. I'm still not entirely sold on the movie's design for Killer Croc, but who knows, maybe it'll turn out pretty well. I also liked how they had that signature moment where Will Smith says something pretty obvious ("What, so we're like some kind of Suicide Squad, huh?"). Anyhoo, any thoughts on this one? Is anyone here excited for it?
  11. Guess who's back with another Steam giveaway? Well, I guess you don't really have to guess since I'm the one making the post, but anyway, that's what I'm doing, so listen up if you want a chance to win one of two Steam games! I've got two Steam keys for a game from both Marvel and DC - one is Lego Marvel Superheroes, and the other is Scribblenauts Unmasked: A DC Comics Adventure. If you fancy winning one of these games, you'll have to make a choice - Marvel or DC? That's right, to enter this contest, you'll have to prove your allegiance: If you want to win Lego Marvel Superheroes, tell me at least one thing that makes Marvel better than DC. If you want to win Scribblenauts, do the opposite - one reason DC is better than Marvel. You can only win one or the other, so choose wisely! IMPORTANT STUFF -The contest is for one (1) Steam key for Lego Marvel Superheroes and one (1) Steam key for Scribblenauts Unmasked: A DC Comics Adventure. There will be two winners, one for each game. -The contest will run from the time of this post until 3:00 PM EST on Sunday, May 24. The winner will be announced shortly afterwards. -Everyone is eligible, staff included. -This contest isn't endorsed or anything by WB Games (or GamePodunk, for that matter), I just put them in the tags since it's relevant. And...I think that's it. So get those entries in, and good luck! We'll see you Sunday, same bat-time, same bat-channel, true believers!

    Marvel vs DC Epic Trailer

Pretty awesome edited trailer with Marvel vs DC heroes. Awesome! Nuff said! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8KxIHVGch8I
  13. So far we know Henry Cavill is Super Man, Ben Affleck is Batman, Gal Gadot is Wonder Woman, and Jason Momoa is (unconfirmed, but really now) Aquaman for the upcoming slate of DC movies. I think they also announced that someone would play Cyborg as well, but I don't remember who. Anyhow, now Dwayne Johnson has come out and strongly hinted that he'll be playing Shazam (otherwise known as Captain Marvel in his heyday) on the big screen. Basically that last part gives it away (though the "power of Superman" narrows it down largely as well) as Shazam activates his powers by saying the word "Shazam." Anyhow, if this all really comes to be, it'll be interesting to see how they sort of reinvent the character for Johnson, especially since he's actually supposed to be a young boy who becomes a superhero when he says the word. Part of me imagines they'll retcon that and either go with a teenager or scrap the young kid idea entirely and just go with a normal guy who becomes a superhero. In any case, what do you guys think of this?

  15. Well then it was announced that Jesse Eisenberg will portray Lex Luthor in the upcoming Batman vs Superman movie. I don't know how I feel about that and a very unexpected choice to pick him as Lex. I really was hoping for Bryan Cranston to fill in the role. We'll see what happens. It's hard for me to picture him as the main villain as Lex. Hmm we'll have to find out. On the other hand Jeremy Irons as Alfred is a good choice in my opinion. Read more here!
