  1. At this point, it almost seems as if Superbot is powering through the list of characters that were already leaked, as today Heavenly Sword's Nariko and MediEvil's Sir Daniel Fortesque have both been confirmed to be playable characters in Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale. Gamespot had previously posted a gameplay video of the two new characters but the video has now been made private on Youtube. We'll update with pictures and video as soon as Sony makes them public. In the meantime, now that all of the leaked characters have been confirmed, this means that we can finally get on with some (hopefully) brand new character announcements. Crash Bandicoot, the stage is now yours (we hope)...
  2. Only yesterday we were told that Evil Cole McGrath would be joining the roster in Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale, and already Superbot has announced another: Raiden (from the Metal Gear Solid series). Raiden's appearance makes him the 18th character announced so far, and judging from his gameplay video, he looks to heavily based in close range combat with his sword. And as a side note, the Uncharted 3 level that's shown off in his trailer shows that it's also mixed with Bioshock Infinite elements, from the blimp in the background to the Songbird flying directly behind the fighting ground. IGN also reminded that if the leaked list of characters about a month back or so is 100% accurate, there may only be two more characters to be announced: Heavenly Sword“s Nariko and MediEvil“s Sir Daniel Fortesque. Time will tell if they'll be in the game, but so far the evidence has backed this theory up. Perhaps Superbot will throw us a curveball with a surprise Crash Bandicoot reveal sometime before release? What do you think of Raiden's reveal in the game?
  3. Today, Superbot revealed the next character to join the player roster in Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale at the GameStop Managers Show in San Antonio, Texas, and that character is: Evil Cole! If you haven't played the Infamous series yet, Evil Cole is...well, Cole led down the evil path, and his appearance changes to reflect that manner. He harnesses both electrokinesis and pyrokinesis powers and has a much more destructive fighting style than the normal Cole. Evil Cole can attack from afar with bursts of fire and electricity, or attack at close range with incendiary strikes, and can utilize familiar attacks such as the Hellfire Rocket, Tripwire Rocket, and Firebird strike. And if you had to guess, yes, his level 3 special is harnessing the power of The Beast to lay waste to everything on the screen, and his Ionic Drain will absorb the other characters' AP, giving him a headstart next time they respawn. Not bad at all! You'll get your chance at playing Evil Cole firsthand when Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale releases on November 20th. Are you excited that Evil Cole has been announced as a playable character on the roster?
  4. Good news, Sega fans. Cult classic graffiti skater Jet Set Radio has now officially been priced and given a release date in North America and Europe. First up, the price will be an extremely reasonable $9.99 across all four platforms (360,PS3,PC, and Vita). As for the release dates, it'll arrive on PSN first, with PS Plus users getting access to the game a whole week earlier on September 11. Non-PS Plus members will then get their chance to purchase it on September 18. XBLA and Steam users come next on September 19, and then finally Vita owners will get their mitts on the game on October 16. It's great to see Sega revive some of their older IPs like this, even if it is just an HD remake. Perhaps if it performs well in sales, we might see another entry in the series after so long? You never know! Are you planning on buying Jet Set Radio?

LittleBigPlanet Vita Set for Release in September

Those of you who are waiting with bated breath for the next batch of Vita games to drop will be pleased to know that one of the most anticipated titles for the handheld has just been given an official date for release - LittleBigPlanet Vita will arrive in stores on September 25th in North America and on September 19th in Europe. This handheld version of the game is slated to take advantage of both the Vita's touch screen and touch pad, and is being developed by Double Eleven and Tarsier Studios; not Media Molecule, which has seemingly moved on to other projects now. Are you looking forward to LittleBigPlanet Vita?
  6. Based on sales figures, you might say that the PlayStation Vita ain't doing so hot. But you'd be wrong. Apparently, some Vita owners are having problems with their systems overheating. And it seems that this issue is pretty serious, because the Japanese government has sanctioned an independent agency to look into it. According to Japanese newspaper Yomiuri Shimbun, the inquiry is being conducted by Japan's National Institute of Technology and Evaluation. Only 31 reports have been made for this problem, though, which is a pretty small number, but that seems to be enough times for Japan's own government to sanction an agency to the matter. 23 of these 31 reports all happened in Japan alone, while the other eight were within North America, the UK, and Australia. None of the 31 incidents have turned up any injuries, though. The problem supposedly happens when users set their Vitas to charge. According to a detailed listing of incidents Sony sent to the National Insistute of Technology and Evaluation, the problem appears to derive from the connection slot between the Vita and the charger, which was reported to burn while charging. Does this mean Sony is about to recall all Vitas? Well, no. According to Yomiuri Shimbun, Sony doesn't think the Vita is to blame, but rather, "the problem is with people having liquids or other objects inserted into the connection.†What are your thoughts on this matter?
  7. Well, that didn't take long. Earlier, it was announced that Sony would be unveiling two new characters in Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale's lineup at EVO today, and now they've been revealed in a video. Say hello to Toro and Tekken's Heihachi. Toro Inoue might be a bit lesser known here in the West, but that's because he's been Sony's Japanese mascot for over a decade. In the game, he operates as a close-range fighter in his Justice form, a ranged specialist in his Torobi form, and wide-area controller in his Oni form. Sounds interesting enough! Heihachi is a bit more of a familiar face for Playstation fans as he's been the face of the Tekken franchise pretty much since its inception. He's also one of five characters to have been in every game in the Tekken series! His key moves such as the Electric Wind God Fist and Twin Pistons will be returning in All-Stars Battle Royale as part of his move-set, and he'll be a powerful close combat fighter as well as having one of the best combo potentials in the entire roster of characters. Also announced was a new stage: the Dojo from Parappa the Rapper where Parappa learned martial arts from Chop Chop Master Onion! Are you pleased with the new character reveals? Who would you like to see revealed next?
  8. If you're hungry for more news regarding Sony's All-Star brawler, you'll be pleased to know that the game finally has a solid release date: October 23! Details on the pricing of PS3 and Vita versions of the game are still coming, so stay tuned. To get you even more excited for its release, they've announced a pre-order incentive in the form of a set of exclusive costumes for every character in the game. And even though there will be plenty of unlockable costumes in the game itself, these exclusive costumes will only be available by pre-ordering the game, so make sure you get on that if this is something that appeals to you. Details on the pricing of PS3 and Vita versions of the game are still coming, so stay tuned. In addition, two more characters will be announced at EVO later today, adding to the existing roster of 8 characters. Who will they be? We'll find out shortly!
