The day after Thanksgiving, there's some sad news to be had: Japanese developer Neverland is closing its doors and filing for bankruptcy over the next few days. The company has unfortunately been in dire straits the last couple of years, and they were not able to turn their profits in order to prevent this shutdown. Who is Neverland? They are the company responsible for the Rune Factory series, including the well-received Rune Factory 4. Neverland also developed most of the games in the Lufia series, as well as various Shining Force games. What will happen to these IPs? It's up in the air right now, but one can only hope that another company can take up Neverland's mantle so that these series don't die off. Well, with any purchase of a Harvest Moon or Rune Factory game from the Natsume store, you'll receive a free limited edition 15th anniversary Harvest Moon tote bag. I received one at Natsume's booth during E3, and it's pretty snazzy and great for carrying a lot of stuff. The sale will go on until August 10th at 11:59 PM (PST).
