New DmC Trailer Shows Some Brotherly Love

The latest trailer for Ninja Theory's remake DmC, reveals not only some new story elements but also Dante's twin brother Vergil makes his debut. Along with the rest of the reboot, Vergil also gets a makeover for the "modernized" aesthetic. The look and detail still gives him the regal orderly look he had from Devil May Cry 3, but he also has a bit more of a flair. While the game was pushed back until 2013, the steady flow of trailers and gameplay videos does a good job of keeping it in the forefront of people's minds. Additionally with DmC's rendition of Dante showing up as a playable fighter in Sony's All-Stars Capcom is working hard to ensure no one forgets about the wise-cracking demon hunter.

Rockman Xover is a Mega Man... Social Game

Ready your mitts, 'cause a new Mega Man game is soon to be ready to drop into the hungry, grubby hands of the unwashed masses, in the form of the iOS title Rockman Xover. A crossover (or Xover) of the games in franchise, but with a bit of a twist? I can hear you celebrating a return to form for our favorite Blue Bomber, quit it. It isn't what one might expect. Instead of playing the all-too-familiar character, players create their own "production model" character. Screenshots imply some side-scrolling, but at its core, it's more an RPG-esque social game. Yeah. Players will travel through missions, beating up bad guys and collecting "battle memory" to improve their powers and stuff. "Battle memory" sounds like something from Mega Man Battle Network, but it's likely more similar to normal Mega Man shenanigans, so we'll see. Some screenshots are below for you to decide for yourself what you think! It's not stateside yet, but The Mega Man Network says that the plan is that it will be soon.
  3. Do you remember a game going by the name of Adrift? If not, it's nothing to worry about as very little about it was ever shown back when it was announced at Gamescom last year. At this yer's expo though you will probably be more apt to know of the game by its new name: Remember Me. Capcom unveiled both a story and gameplay trailer for it today as well as some screenshots. The story focuses around the character Nilin in a futuristic setting. Her profession is that of a "memory hunter", which means she is skilled with manipulating and even stealing memories of people. However, she somehow managed to have her own memories wiped by someone else. That's the impetus to get the game going and have Nilin searching and fighting to find the truth. Capcom also put a video showcasing the current state of Remember Me's memory remix gameplay. This gameplay element has Nilin jumping into the memories of characters. From there, she is able to watch memories and then alter them so the person really thinks things happened that way. In the video, we see a memory change from a simple angry breakup into murder. Remember Me is set to launch around May 2013 and will be available for PS3, 360, and PC. If you're interested in seeing a bit more then check out our image gallery!

  11. Capcom has announced a lucrative first quarter for the Japan-based publisher, with a profit of ¥1.3 billion ($16.9 million) reported at the end of June 30. Not surprisingly, much of the profit is attributed to their digital content group (otherwise known as their games division), having raked in ¥13.74 billion ($176 million) of the overall gross of ¥18.62 billion ($238 million). The publisher stated that Dragon's Dogma was one of the reasons for the success, and even though it has struggled abroad, its popularity in the domestic market (Japan) exceeded expectations and sold more than one million copies. While not bad, it's still a far cry from the 10 million sales that producer Hideaki Itsuno hopes it will eventually attain. Interestingly enough, Capcom's social games have proved to be a source of steady income as well, with the likes of The Smurf's Village, Snoopy's Street Fair, Minna to Monhan Card Master, Sengoku BASARA: Card Heroes and Resident Evil: Outbreak Survive all mentioned as contributing to the company's 2 million social network site users. It will be interesting to see if Capcom will be able to sustain these kinds of numbers for the rest of the year. Their next (and last?) big game of the year is Resident Evil 6, a title that should produce quite a boatload of cash for the publisher, so stay tuned - Capcom isn't done making ridiculous amounts of money just yet.
  12. Have you pre-ordered Resident Evil 6 yet? Well, if not, you might want to check out the awesome pre-order bonus for those of you who decide to pre-order the game via the Capcom Store. It's an umbrella. But not just any umbrella; an Umbrella umbrella. It's full-sized at 48 inches and even comes with a custom carrying sleeve. Of course, if you want the umbrella but already pre-ordered the game elsewhere, you could always buy it separately at the Capcom Store for $16.95. This pre-order bonus announcement follows the previous reveal of exclusive Mercenaries multiplayer maps for pre-ordering over at Amazon, GameStop, and Best Buy. It also follows the announcement of several different special editions of the game. Find out more about all this pre-order goodness as the release date for Resident Evil 6, October 2nd, gets closer. But for now, look at this cool umbrella: Will you be pre-ordering Resident Evil 6? If so, from where? Does the umbrella bonus interest you at all? Source: IGN
  13. While everyone seems to focus on Capcom's Resident Evil series when it comes to horror, there are still other games in the genre from the company. One game from them that was very much overlooked for the PlayStation 2 is Haunting Ground. And out of seemingly nowhere, it will be making its appearance on the PlayStation 3 sometime in the near future. The ESRB has given a rating for Haunting Ground for the PS3, most likely meaning it will be an HD re-release or PS2 classic on PSN. Capcom has not yet mentioned exactly which one it will be. For those unaware of what Haunting Ground is about, it's the story of a girl named Fiona who is trapped in an eerie castle after being in a car accident. With the loyal German Shepherd, Hewie, by her side, they must escape from the castle's inhabitants -- who all seem to want something from Fiona. Even on the PS2, Haunting Ground features graphics that are, in my opinion, even better than the graphics of some games of this generation. It should be a real treat to see how they fare on the PS3! Have you ever played Haunting Ground? Are you interested in getting a PSN download of it?
  14. JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, which is based on a Japanese manga of the same name, came to arcades, PlayStations, and Dreamcasts way back during 1998-2000. The 2D Capcom fighting game is just as weird as its title suggests -- with absolutely crazy characters and moves. During Comic-Con, Capcom has graced us with an announcement of an HD port of the game titled JoJo's Bizarre Adventure HD Ver. On top of upgraded visuals, the game will also include online multiplayer (which Capcom claims will be similar to that of Super Street Fighter IV and Marvel vs. Capcom 3). JoJo's Bizarre Adventure HD Ver. will be coming to Xbox Live on August 21st for 1600 MSP and to PSN on August 22nd for $19.99.
