  1. While it was widely reported that Telltale didn't have plans for any more of The Wolf Among Us, the information turned out to be incorrect in the end. Oops! The good news is that the company announced at San Diego Comic-Con 2017 that Season 2 of The Wolf Among Us is finally in the works and will be arriving in the latter half of 2018. While that may seem a long way out, it's great to know that the property will be revisited; Telltale also mentioned it was one of their most requested sequels. Also coming very soon is the next season of Batman, which has the subtitle 'The Enemy Within.' It will continue where season 1 left off, with a nascent Joker out of Arkham and Bruce investigating the Riddler as he plots some gruesome puzzles for the Dark Knight. Oh, and the first episode will be arriving next month on August 8, which pretty much marks this as the fastest turnaround for a second season from Telltale so far. Last but not least, Telltale is wrapping up The Walking Dead with what is dubbed as 'The Final Season.' It will once again put you into the shoes of fan-favorite character 'Clementine,' presumably wrapping up her story arc. Like the second season of The Wolf Among Us, this one is also planned for release next year. Check out Telltale's Summer 2017 Update video, which highlights all of the work going into these projects for more insights below. With three more projects having been announced, one wonders if this is all we'll hear about from Telltale for a little while. After all, they currently have Guardians of the Galaxy to finish up, a second season for Minecraft: Story Mode just debuted, and these three new projects add up to five so far. They've also been rumored to be working on a new IP, so perhaps we'll hear something about that in the next half year to year ahead. Source: Press Release Are you surprised to hear that The Wolf Among Us is getting a second season? And what are your thoughts on Batman: The Enemy Within and The Walking Dead: The Final Season?
  2. It seems inevitable that Batman will once again throw down with Dictator Superman in the upcoming Injustice sequel, but more interesting than that is a new threat that NetherRealm Studios is cooking up for Batman to tangle with: Brainiac. NetherRealm cinematic director Dominic Ciancolo recently took to the PlayStation Blog to reveal certain details about the plot for Injustice 2, saying that it takes place right after Injustice: Gods Among Us as Batman still finds himself facing threats (even after defeating his world's Superman) such as former members of Superman's regime and a new shadowy group called The Society. Ciancolo also mentioned that the biggest challenge in developing the story was not repeating the narrative from the first game. While the conflict between Batman and Superman is a central plot point, the development team needed something to propel the story forward, which is why they chose Brainiac as the big bad. After all, few others are arguably more dangerous and powerful than the Man of Steel. And speaking of dangerous foes, another Superman villain who will be popping up this time around as a playable character will be Darkseid. The villainous alien dictator appears at the end of the trailer as a pre-order incentive, but it's less clear if he's a part of the actual story or not as well. Injustice 2 is slated for release on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on May 16. You can check out the latest trailer for the game below. What are your thoughts on Brainiac being the big bad in Injustice 2?
  3. Maybe not technically a deal, but I saw this on CAG and figured I'd post it here too for anyone who doesn't frequent those forums - the first episode of Telltale's Batman series is currently free to download and play on Steam from now until November 7th! Just head over to the game's page here, scroll down a bit till you "Episode 1 - click here to download" with a big banner under it, click it and start installing the episode. I played it earlier and it convinced me to buy the season pass even though all the episodes aren't out, so check into it if you're on the fence!
  4. Holy crap! This is awesome! A lot of new footage shown here. What do you guys think? Too much reveal? DC is definitely showing what they can do up against Marvel next year. I'm excited and man there is a lot going on with Gotham to Metropolis and then Doomsday and then stuff! Whew!

    Gotham

Anyone watching Gotham? So far I like it but can see that it could lose its direction before long. They may be trying too hard to mix fantasy and reality. After 3 episodes, I'd probably give it a 7/10 rating. Good enough for me to keep watching but I could see myself losing interest after a while. The cast is good...guess we'll see if they can improve in other areas.
  6. Not sure why, and not sure how long it lasts, but Arkham Origins Blackgate is $20 for a download code for the Vita version. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00GGUSZVY/ref=nosim/cheapassgam08-20 It's only the Vita download, physical copies are still $35 for Vita and I think $30 for 3DS. Anyway, if $20 is your "eh, I'll try it" point for this game, there it is.
  7. Someone made this awesome fan-made Batman/Superman teaser with clips from Man of Steel, Daredevil, and Breaking Bad, but you'd almost never know it! Check it out below. Also, this made me remember that I REALLY need to buy the Man of Steel OST. Man... great stuff.
  8. As has been the tradition for games with lots of DLC recently, Warner Bros. has announced a Season Pass for the upcoming Batman: Arkham Origins. It will be available on all of the platforms the game is coming to and will be available for purchase at launch for $19.99 (a $30 value overall). The Season Pass will include five of Arkham Origins' upcoming DLC packs, one of which will also include two exclusive skins. As for what the five DLC packs contain, see the list below. Gotham by Gaslight Batmanâ„¢ Skin and Brightest Day Batmanâ„¢ Skin New Millennium Skins Pack Infinite Earths Skins Pack Arkham Origins Initiation: Play as Bruce Wayne before he became Batmanâ„¢, and face his final test to prove himself worthy to his greatest teacher, Kirigi. An all-new story campaign which has yet to be detailed So if you feel like saving $10 on DLC, check out the Season Pass when the game launches. Batman: Arkham Origins will release on PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U, and PC on October 25.
  9. http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/08/02/rumor-next-movie-batman-will-be-middle-aged-veteran-superhero I guess it kinda makes sense, but that would make him older than Henry Cavill's Superman, and... I dunno. Guess I thought they'd go with someone in their late 20's/early 30's again. What do you think about the idea of a middle-aged, more grizzled Batman in future movies?
  10. Batman: Arkham Origins is the latest upcoming console release of ever-popular Arkham series. The game itself is still a few months away from launch but is set to hit all currently available consoles: PC, PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U. Today the news got out about a brand new multiplayer mode in the game. Invisible Predator Online attempts to pull from the style of Arkham's Challenge Rooms. Only this time, both Batman and the burly thugs will be controlled by players. SCEA social media specialist Justin Massongill discussed this new mode on the PS Blog: "Eight players take to the streets of Gotham in the game“s multiplayer mode: three Joker thugs, three Bane thugs, and two heroes in the form of Batman and Robin. The thugs compete to wipe out the other team and capture control points in what plays out like a third-person, cover-based shooter. Meanwhile, the two heroes prowl the playfield in an attempt to intimidate enemies and provoke the gang leaders into calling the whole operation off. When playing as Batman or Robin, variety matters. Repeating the same takedowns over and over will result in lower and lower intimidation yields, so you“ll need to get creative. Hide in ducts and score a takedown when someone passes over you, then grapple to a gargoyle overhead to get the drop on another unsuspecting thug. Set some explosive gel and wait for the right moment to detonate, while hiding in the shadows for a surprise chokeout. The more you mix it up, the better your chances. Whatever you do, though, be careful — getting taken out will bolster your foes“ confidence, undoing a good chunk of the progress you“ve made so far. Initially, playing as Batman or Robin seems like a privilege players will be fighting over, but I actually had more fun getting down and dirty as one of the henchmen on the field. This mode would be a fully competent third-person shooter without the heroes“ presence, but their inclusion adds a wildcard element that turns Invisible Predator Online into a completely different kind of experience." Of course, words can only show so much about a new mode. Thankfully there was also a trailer released alongside the announcement. It is worth noting though that not every version of Batman: Arkham Origins will have Invisible Predator Online. Unfortunately, the Wii U is left out of the online equation. Everyone else will be able to enjoy the new mode when the game launches on October 25th.
  11. For a guy who specializes so heavily in stealth, it is weird how iconic Batman's voices are. Even is... well, people know it. It's a big job, having to make the decision to replace Batman's voice, but in Arkham Origins, they've given the job to Roger Craig Smith. You might recognize the name. Smith has done some work as Sonic the Hedgehog, as well as the Resident Evil series's Chris Redfield. More recently, he's been the voice of Ezio from the Assassin's Creed series, so Batman might be kind of sexy this time around. Just because The Incomparable Kevin Conroy isn't doing the Bat-Man, however, that doesn't mean he's out of the series's will. He apparently will be showing up in the game in some capacity, according to a Q&A at Dallas Comic-Com (via Batman-News.com), but what role? We'll find out one day! As we all know, Mark Hamill has yet again stated that Arkham City was his last jaunt into Jokerdom, so it's safe to say that he won't be in Origins and we can be free to focus on Batman's brilliant other pantheon of villains--Oh wait, no, Joker's in there, since it's a prequel. Fortunately for Mark Hamill, though, they've found someone for a younger version of the role: Troy Baker. Troy Baker is riding high on recent celebrity, thanks to his role as Booker DeWitt in BioShock Infinite, but he's one of voice acting's big names, playing around one hundred different game roles, including Yuri from Tales of Vesperia, one of the voice options for the main character in Saints Row: The Third, and my personal favorite, Kanji in Persona 4. He's on the credit cards to be playing Joel in the upcoming The Last of Us, if none of those got you interested. If this news has reaffirmed (or at least hasn't diminished) your desire for the series, preordering from Amazon.com will score you a playable Deathstroke DLC thing. Since Batman has a showdown-throwdown with him during the recent trailer (seen below), he's obviously going to be in the game, but in what capacity, they're keeping close-to-the-vest. The site still doesn't really have information on what exactly it is, so if you're morally opposed to preorder bonuses, there's no reason to assume that this is worth violating your principles or anything. Otherwise, hey, go for it. The current listed release date is October 25, 2013, for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PC, Nintendo 3DS, Wii U, and the PlayStation Vita.

    Next Batman Arkham Game Outed

Earlier, media conglomerate Time Warner had a Q4 2012 earnings call with investors. After the call transcript was posted on Yahoo! Finance, gaming sites quickly caught wind of something which was revealed during it. That information was simple confirmation of a new game in the Batman Arkham series coming this year. Here is the exact statement: "And we also have a strong games release this year, which will include the next release in the Batman Arkham franchise. So all in all, we expect Warners to post another very strong year in 2013." With that said, it was not like gamers didn't expect more games in the series. What is currently unknown is whether developer Rocksteady Studios will be behind this latest game or not. They developed both 2009's Batman: Arkham Asylum and 2011's Batman: Arkham City. Would you be excited to play another Batman game this year?

    Dark Knight Rises Parody Videos

I apologize in advance; I'm on somewhat of a Youtube kick as of late, but I thought I'd share the funniest parody videos of Bane and The Dark Knight Rises that I came across. Enjoy. P.S. If you haven't seen The Dark Knight Rises, you...probably won't get a lot of the references in some of these, lol.
  14. Ever wondered how much it would cost to be Batman or Iron Man? Check out these awesome infographics I stumbled across earlier.
  15. It looks as if Batman may be heading back in time for his next game (again in development by Rocksteady). Variety has reported that the sucessor to the critically acclaimed Batman Arkham City will in fact be a prequel set in DC Comic's Silver Age era. The game's story is said to be based upon Batman's first meeting with The Joker, and also will include the first meeting of DC's other superheroes (like Superman and The Flash) as they first establish the Justice League of America. Variety also reports that this is part of a conscious effort by Warner Bros. to expose audiences to the JLA in the eventual lead-up to a proposed Justice League film in 2015. Should be interesting to see what Rocksteady does with the famous superhero team and if they'll be able to seemlessly incorporate them into the videogame world they have established for Batman. What do you think? Are you excited with the direction Rocksteady and Warner Bros. Interactive Enterainment is going with the next Batman game?
