  1. At this point in time, From Software appears to be on the same level of game output as Platinum Games, where both developers have multiple teams working on 3-4 different games at the same time. In a recent interview with IGN at the Tokyo Game Show, Dark Souls creator Hidetaka Miyazaki revealed that the studio is developing at least three games concurrently, with some being based on dark fantasy while others might be mech-based. When pressed further on the matter, Miyazaki confirmed that one of the titles was part of the Armored Core series. Another of the titles was said to be a completely new IP, with Miyazaki saying fans would probably say "Oh, what the hell is this very weird game that Miyazaki has created?" And if you hadn't heard before, the third game is unlikely to be a new Dark Souls due to Miyazaki wanting to move on from the series for now. But considering that it could be another dark fantasy game, it's entirely possible that it could be a Bloodborne sequel; we'll have to wait and see. Source: IGN Aside from Armored Core, what else do you think From Software is working on right now, and are you excited to hear what they are?

Dark Souls 3 is coming in 2016

I don't think anyone was really surprised by this, but it's nice to see that From Software is being kept relatively busy these days. Between this and Bloodborne, I wonder if they'll have time to do anything else, as I imagine Sony wants them to continue doing the latter for the foreseeable future. Same with Bandai Namco and Dark Souls. Anyhoo, trailer time... Thoughts on this? Do we have any Dark Souls purists here that are extremely excited for this?
  3. The rumored in-development Playstation 4 exclusive game code named Project Beast has finally been revealed. Sony unveiled Bloodborne a third-party exclusive from From Software during their press conference at E3 this evening. We have reported on this title a number of times over the past month and a half. Leaked images of the then titled Project Beast surfaced, followed a few weeks later by leaked video footage. Well it is now clear that the project is very real. Bloodborne will be available on PS4 in 2015. Check out the full trailer for Bloodborne below: For more on this and all the big E3 reveals stay tuned to Game Podunk! Is this enough to persuade fans of Dark Souls to buy the PS4?
  4. Earlier this month information and screenshots surfaced for a game tentatively titled Project Beast. It was purportedly in development by From Software in combination with Sony's Japan Studio and would be a Playstation 4 exclusive. With Sony owning the rights to the Demon's Souls franchise, this didn't seem too far-fetched but was still to be taken with a grain of salt. Those rumors gained some serious traction this week, however. Footage of Project Beast leaked on Youtube supporting much of the information previously rumored. The video features a shotgun toting mage of sorts fighting off demons in gothic locales. At the end of the video the main character seems to be approaching a boss which very much resembles something from the Demon's or Dark Souls franchises. Check out the leaked video below: This would be a very impressive fake if it ends up being one. Judging by the quality of the video and information though, the game is likely real. The only scenario where gamers might not get taste of Project Beast, is if the footage is from a cancelled game. Other than that, this seems legitimate. If the game is not announced this week, expect to see it at E3. Keep it at Game Podunk for future updates. Source: Vyktar Youtube Channel What are your thoughts on the legitimacy of Project Beast?
  5. From Software and Sony Japan Studio may be working on a project for the Playstation 4. Screenshots leaked on NeoGAF show a previously unannounced game tentatively titled Project Beast. The screens are dark and somewhat blurry but display a cemetery and other Gothic settings. Outside of a beastly dog looking creature not much more can be seen in the photos. The individual who leaked the screenshots also mentioned shotgun wielding and "a huge pyromancy fireball". More information on Project Beast is expected to come at Sony's E3 press conference, that is, if the rumors are true. It is also unclear if Kadokawa's recent acquisition of From Software could influence the future of the project. Game Podunk will bring you the latest from the pre-E3 rumor mill over the next few weeks. Could this be connected to Demon's Souls which is a Sony owned IP? Source: NeoGAF
  6. It has been reported by Siliconera that the developer From Software has been purchased by Japanese publisher Kadokawa. From Software is popular for developing such series as King's Field, Armored Core and Demon's/Dark Souls. According to a Japanese business report, Kadokawa's acquisition will give them 80% of stock in the developer. The purchase will be completed on May 21, 2014. The CEO of From Software, Naotoshi Zin, stated, "With a new system, from this point on, I believe we'll be able to make newer and more in depth games." Poor translation aside, this means From Software will have more resources to make better games. With Dark Souls II sitting at 92 on Metacritic, that is an exciting proposition.
