Roy, Ryu, Lucas, New Mii Fighter Costumes, and New Stages Now Available in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U/3DS
Jordan Haygood posted a article in NintendoIt looks like E3 week has officially kicked off for Nintendo. Alongside the release of Lucas as a playable fighter in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS, a special video presentation has been released, featuring Masahiro Sakurai himself showcasing two new fighters, Lucas, who we already got a glimpse of before, new costumes for Mii Fighters, and some new stages. And the best part? All of this is available right this second! Well, most of it is available, at least. One thing that was shown off was the classic Dream Land stage from the N64 original, but Sakurai also announced that Hyrule Castle and Peach's Castle from the original will also be making a return sometime in the future. Two other stages that were made available include the long-awaited Miiverse stage and another stage that comes with a certain street fighter that has been officially released. The street fighter in question is, of course, Ryu, who was actually leaked earlier. He's a fairly interesting inclusion, featuring a moveset that is quite unique to the character. Based heavily on the Street Fighter franchise, Ryu's moveset includes a way to play that is very familiar to Street Fighter fans, along with two different final smashes, which is also something unique to Ryu. He also comes with his own stage - Suzaku Castle. You can watch all things Ryu in the following videos: Another character that was leaked earlier was Fire Emblem fighter Roy, who was also officially announced in the special presentation. Returning from Super Smash Bros. Melee, Roy has received an appearance overhaul and has been balanced for the newest entries. He also has a final smash, which he obviously didn't have in Melee. You can watch his presentation below: One character that was rumored to become playable was Inkling Girl from Splatoon. That won't be happening, as it turns out. However, alongside a new trophy featuring the character, both Inkling Girl and Inkling Boy are now available as costumes for Mii Fighters. Also released are costumes based on Akira and Jacky from Virtua Fighter, Heihachi from Tekken, Isabelle from Animal Crossing, MegaMan.EXE from Mega Man Battle Network, and ZERO from Mega Man X. You can see them all in action in the following video: All of this content is now available on the Nintendo eShop for the following prices: Lucas - $3.99 on one platform / $4.99 on both Wii U & 3DS Ryu + Suzaku Castle stage - $5.99 on one platform / $6.99 on both Wii U & 3DS Roy - $3.99 on one platform / $4.99 on both Wii U & 3DS Mii Fighter Costumes - $0.75 each on one platform / $1.15 on both Wii U & 3DS / $6 for all on one platform / $9.20 for all on both Wii U & 3DS Dream Land (a stage from the N64 original) - $1.99 on one platform / $2.99 on both Wii U & 3DS Miiverse Stage - Free, Wii U only Everything in one bundle - $21.96 on one platform / $29.16 on both Wii U & 3DS Are you excited about all this Smash Bros. DLC? Will Ryu, Roy, or Lucas become your main?
Jonathan Higgins posted a article in NintendoNintendo already confirmed that Lucas, the Miiverse Stage, and Splatoon costumes for Mii Fighters were all coming as Downloadable Content for Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS & Wii U on June 14th last week via Social Media. But today, they announced that Sakurai will be hosting a special Smash Bros-centric video presentation on that same day, at 7:40 AM PT, 10:40 ET. That“s...interesting. Will the broadcast offer more surprises beyond what we already know? I“m guessing yes. Methinks this broadcast is designed to take up a good twenty minutes or so that would have otherwise been reserved for the big Digital Event coming next Tuesday during E3 2015. What do you think will be announced? Will we see long-rumored stuff like Ryu and Roy come to light? And it begs the question: with the Nintendo Direct Micro and now this Smash Bros. Broadcast--will the Digital Event suffer from all this information already happening, or will we see more new content from Nintendo than ever? Be sure to let us know how you feel below!
