  1. Steam... Trading Cards? That's the new service on Steam that "rewards gamers for gaming on Steam." As the name implies, you can earn cards by playing any game on Steam that offers them. So far, there are six games that are currently part of the Steam Trading Card Beta: CS:GO Don't Starve Dota 2 Half-Life 2 Portal 2 Team Fortress 2 That's not all, though. You can then take your set of cards and craft them into shiny game badges, which are then displayed on your profile. These badges will also earn you marketable items like emoticons, profile backgrounds, and coupons. If you level them up, you can even earn profile showcases, extra friends list slots, and more. You can participate in the beta now by simply joining the Steam Trading Cards group. An email notification will be sent to you later on.

Portal 2 Busts a Move with In Motion DLC and Patch

Portal fans with PlayStation Move will be in luck this month. Coming on November 6th, Portal 2 receives the "In Motion" DLC pack which was made for the Move. Those who want it will have to pay a $10 fee but then will be greeted with 20 new test chambers. Along with that, there will be new Move-specific features added in which mean new ways to solve puzzles. Many people may appreciate the DLC, but wonder about how the entire game would play out with motion controls. Curious Move owners won't have to wonder for very long. An update will be coming to Portal 2 which patches in Move functionality for the entire game. The features specific to the DLC will not function outside of it, but otherwise the game will be fully playable with the controller. This includes both the single player and multiplayer campaigns. Those who for some reason have yet to buy the game will also be able to buy it (pre-patched) as a PSN download on the same day as the DLC arrives. Finally, there are various deals to be had on this content if you're a PS Plus member. The In Motion DLC will be 30% off, for one. New PSN copies of Portal 2 will also be 30% off at launch. Check out this debut trailer to see what Move functionality brings to the game:
  4. You've probably already downloaded the full Portal 2 soundtrack for free, but wouldn't you prefer a physical collector's edition of the soundtrack? What if it also included the original Portal's music (which was previously unavailable)? Well you're in luck, because Ipecac Recordings and Valve Corporation are releasing a four-disc set of Portal and Portal 2 tracks titled Portal 2: Songs to Test By (Collector's Edition). Not only are there 77 Portal and Portal 2 tracks in this collector's edition set (you can view the whole track listing by disc under the press release here), but also the mini-comic called "Turret Lullaby" (which is also viewable online). You can get your hands on a copy of Portal 2: Songs to Test By (Collector's Edition) on October 30th. There is no price listed yet. Do you enjoy Portal 2's soundtrack? Will you be purchasing this collector's edition that includes music from both Portal and Portal 2?
