  1. We've had a thread for the other games, so why not this one? This month's free game for Ubisoft's 30th anniversary is Rayman Origins. You can grab it at the same link as the other games: https://club.ubi.com/#!/en-US/ubi30 This is pretty notable since it's a great game and a bit more recent than the previous two freebies. Of course it's also been in the $1 tier of a Humble Bundle or two, but still. If you somehow haven't played it or just need an excuse to play it again, add it to your Uplay account for free!
  2. Apparently, this was "leaked" on 4chan. I know, I know... I don't actually think it's real, but thought it would make for some interesting discussion. If anything was real about that, it's probably the new eShop icon that the guy pointed out; otherwise anyone could 'shop something like this. What do you guys think? Real or fake?

  4. Rayman Origins was one incredibly loved game when it came out. Although the Rayman name hadn't really been going anywhere in recent years, the title completely revived it. Fans have been eagerly anticipating Rayman Legends although they have had to contend with delay after delay. Ubisoft designer Michel Ancel spoke to Joystiq about the game's included extra levels. Alongside a world full of new content for Legends, the game is also going to include 40 levels from Origins. This should definitely appeal to players who never got around to playing the first game. All of these extra stages are reworked in the newer game engine and even include specific touch features on Vita and Wii U. Also included is a minigame called Kung Foot. The soccer (or football, if you prefer)-based game was created during the developer's spare time. As such, it's a simplistic little addition but nice for them to have added in all the same. Rayman Legends is currently poised for simultaneous launch on September 3rd for Wii U, PS3, Vita, and Xbox 360.

    Rayman Legends Coming to Vita

If you've been waiting to play Rayman Legends but weren't sure of what console to buy it for then this news will make that purchase decision even harder. The game, which was previously announced for launch on 360, PS3, and Wii U, is now also coming to Vita. The port had been initially revealed for Europe but has since been confirmed for US release as well. What differentiates this version from others? First, there are five levels exclusive to the handheld. Secondly, the rear touch pad can be used to guide Murphy around. Rayman Legends on Vita will also allow for local co-op as well as online multiplayer. Unless the dates get changed again, Rayman Legends is looking toward a September 3rd launch on all platforms.
  6. The recent news that the Wii U exclusive Rayman Legends would be dropping the "exclusive" label and heading to the PS3 and Xbox 360 disappointed a lot of people wishing for Wii U to have some nice third-party exclusives. However, that's nothing compared to the reaction from Ubisoft's decision to delay the Wii U version, finished and ready for release, for half a year. Following the news was an outraged forum post by an anonymous person who claims to be an ex-developer, blaming the "men in ties" at Ubisoft for the delay and describing the news as having been "hell" to hear after the devs worked so hard to finish the game within the Wii U launch window. Also following this news was a series of fan protests to get the Wii U version back to its original release date. Unexpectedly, one of such protests actually includes Rayman creator Michel Ancel and his development team, according to some recent pictures taken with fans involved in the protest: These pictures show the devs with a banner that reads "Release Rayman. Support Ubisoft Montpelier" in French, along with a sad depiction of Rayman saying "please" and smaller banners drawn on reading "Wii U," "Rayman," "Michel Ancel," and "28/02/13." 28/02/13 (or 2/28/13) is, of course, the original release date for the Wii U version of the game. While the devs weren't the ones who started this protest, them agreeing to stand with the fans who did is a pretty powerful message. Think about it: if they didn't want to show their publisher disagreement with the delay, would these pictures exist? Hopefully Ubisoft gets the message and makes something of this. It would certainly be nice to get Rayman Legends sooner than later... What are your thoughts on this big delay?
  7. Rayman Legends has been one of the games that Wii U fans have been waiting for. Unfortunately, it didn't make it to launch day and was previously pushed back to Spring. Interestingly, Nintendo's recent announcement of dates pegged the game for February 26th, but that is no longer the case. The game is being pushed back further and definitely out of "launch window" range. There's a reason for this, though. Although Rayman Legends now has a tenuous release month of September, we are now given a reason as to why there is such a long delay. Ubisoft announced today that the game is coming to PS3 and 360 alongside Wii U. The ports will be worked on by the same team as Wii U, which hopefully means the games will be comparable experiences (GamePad control notwithstanding). Why did Ubisoft decide to bring the game to other systems? Chief Marketing and Sales Officer Geoffroy Sardin said that they heard from many fans who wanted to see the game on their current consoles. It will also definitely help the game see more purchases to be on multiple systems simultaneously. Are you glad to see Rayman Legends being made available to more players? What system will you get it for?

  9. It's officially official, you guys; if you'd like to get your hands on Rayman Legends, you'll have to save up for a Wii U first, because Ubisoft has announced that the game will definitely be an exclusive. It's true that we've only ever seen Wii U footage of the game, but it has never actually been stated that the game wouldn't be released for any other console. In fact, Rayman Origins was released on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Vita, PC, Wii, and soon the 3DS, so you'd think the sequel would follow suit. But according to this new trailer, Rayman Legends will be released “exclusively on Wii Uâ€: The above trailer is brought to us by Gamescom, which is being held this week. According to the trailer, Rayman Legends will be arriving just in time for Christmas. We still aren't entirely sure when the Wii U console itself is slated for release, though it'll likely be sometime in November. And this is just one of the exclusives Ubisoft has for the Wii U. Aside from Rayman Legends, the console will also be getting ZombiU, and the upcoming Just Dance 4 will receive exclusive tracks for Wii U owners. And who knows what else they'll bring in the future? Will you be getting a Wii U in time to play Rayman Legends? What games are you most excited for?
