  1. You've got to love this day and age where music, videos, and even games are not safe from the all-seeing eye of copyright holders. While we're used to seeing claims on goofy Youtube videos, we aren't quite so accustomed to claims on games. However, today GTA: Vice City was taken down from various digital download services (including behemoth Steam) due to one. Why? Here's the simple reason: "Due to some music licensing issues, we“ve had to temporarily remove Vice City PC from digital stores. We“ll make it available again as soon as possible." Sony Music Entertainment filed this claim because of the Michael Jackson song "Wanna be Startin' Something" on the in-game radio. Of course, this isn't the only Jackson song in the game but it's the one that caused the whole issue. Copyright is a fairly confusing thing but the most likely reason this is happening now is because the game's right to use the track has probably expired. For the moment this means GTA: Vice City can't be sold on Steam (or other PC download sites). With this being an important part of the GTA series we can expect it to come back online at some point, but hopefully no one was planning on buying it this weekend. Thankfully, if you already owned the game on Steam then you can still access the download.
  2. Are you someone who has missed out on playing most of Rockstar's games this generation? While most of us have probably played at least one of their 360 or PS3 games, there are definitely those who have yet to experience them. Those gamers should be happy to know that a collection of Rockstar Games titles is about to arrive in stores. Rockstar Games Collection: Edition 1 was announced today, which includes four main games. They are: Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City, LA Noire, Midnight Club: Los Angeles Complete Edition, and Red Dead Redemption. This edition of GTA IV is comprised of the two standalone episodes The Ballad of Gay Tony and The Lost and Damned. Aside from Midnight Club though, neither LA Noire or Red Dead Redemption are specified as being their respective "complete" editions, so they probably aren't. As for naming it Edition 1, Rockstar has yet to explain the purpose of it. However, it would be safe to expect an "Edition 2" to arrive later on with different games in the pack. Regardless, this pack of four games is priced fairly at $60. It will be available on both 360 and PS3 on November 6th.
  3. Hey, sorry I haven't really been posting much at all on here lately! I've been really busy, and a tad lazy. ;D You know how that is. *rolls eyes* Well, I just thought I'd let everyone know that Rockstar Games is giving away FREE Steam copies of Midnight Club 2 to anyone that joins their Rockstar Games Steam group! The announcement was made here: http://steamcommunit...078427175199696 And the group is here: http://steamcommunit...s/rockstargames The game has multiplayer and if you're wary of the notice on the Steam store page that says "Not compatible with Windows Vista or Windows 7", to my knowledge there is a patch out there that fixes that. So.....if there's enough people here who want to do it, maybe we can get a MC2 get-together going! Also, as a slight warning- you need at least 1 purchase, gift redemption, key redemption, or anything like that on your Steam account to get the free copy of Midnight Club 2. That's pretty much anything that doesn't have a "Free" or "Free To Play" tag on Steam. Another warning I might add- you have to join by May 15th, 2012, to be eligible (so this is a 5-day notice), and the copies should be sent out around the 29th. Enjoy!
