  1. http://www.ign.com/articles/2014/02/25/layoffs-hit-god-of-war-studio-sony-santa-monica This is kind of surprising to hear given how well the PS4 has been doing lately. What exactly is going on at Sony Santa Monica? Last I heard they were moving to a new facility, but to lay off enough people to cancel a whole project in development? I dunno, the whole thing feels weird to me, but perhaps there's a logical explanation for it. What do you guys think?

    E3 2013: New PS4 IP The Order 1886 Announced

The Sony conference began safely by discussing titles that had been previously announced. It was once Shuhei Yoshida took the stage that things began to get interesting. He began by presenting a new game by Ready at Dawn and Sony Santa Monica. The new IP is called The Order 1886 and, despite the year in the name, is far from historically accurate. We know this because though the trailer was full of period costumes and mutton chops, it also showed characters fighting with weapons that had electrical and futuristic elements.
  3. In case you hadn't heard of this before, the upcoming God of War: Ascension included one Trophy titled "Bros Before Hos" which would pop up upon demolishing a specific female character. Since the game comes out tomorrow, the biggest backlash against the Trophy was from reviewers of the game who received early copies. As many voiced their displeasure over the name of the Trophy, Sony Santa Monica has decided to change it rather than spurring further controversy. Here is their official statement which was given to Joystiq: "We have created and will soon push out a patch for God of War: Ascension that alters the title of one of the game Trophies. The text was offensive to some members of our community and impacted their enjoyment of the game. We are endlessly committed to ensuring that our community can fully enjoy the experiences the team has created. As such, we've addressed the feedback and amended the Trophy in question." Therefore, when the game is available on store shelves, players who take it home shall see an update upon starting the game. It is fairly typical procedure to have day one patches, just not so regularly to avert controversy. In case you were wondering, the new Trophy title is "Bros Before Foes". Considering they had clever wordplay up their sleeve, it may have been better to simply choose this version from the get go. Do you think the Trophy name change was necessary or is it meaningless considering the tone of the series?
