  1. So, this year is pretty crazy for Black Friday deals, right? From what I'm seeing, it's heads and shoulders above the deals that were floating around last year. So far I've seen games for as low as $15 (not games that just released, but still), and popular AAA titles from this Fall for $25-$35, which is pretty insane. The sad thing is I'm trying to curb my spending this time around because... y'know, money is unfortunately low for me at the moment. I'm still going to get some things for sure; I just won't spend $100-150 like I often have. At any rate, what games and other deals have you gotten this Black Friday? Be sure to post them below!

    Black Friday Plans

In case you missed it, CAG has a fantastic Black Friday Master List for all gaming related deals. They've even compiled a Google Sheet that highlights where each game is the best price! What are you planning on buying? Anything you're on the fence about? My List DOOM Telltale's Batman Battleborn Assassin's Creed Syndicate The Witcher 3: Complete Edition Maybe List Lego Dimensions Starter Pack Titanfall 2 Battlefield 1 Bioshock: The Collection The maybe list consists of games that could possibly go cheaper by the time I have a chance to play them. My definite buys are the games that are the lowest price I can realistically see them going.
  3. Black Friday is officially underway... erm, even if it is only Thursday so far! So far, this year's sales have actually been pretty good IMO. We've seen some pretty competent console bundles, low game prices, and even some accidental price drops (hello Batman: Arkham Knight for $16!). Anyhow, I'll post back here after I finish buying stuff. Let's hear what you guys got!
  4. Welp, we're almost at Black Friday, when games tend to see some of their lowest prices of the year (although recent studies have shown that the biggest deals actually come right before Christmas). It's likely that most of us will probably be buying select games on sale during the event, but given that there are only a few notable releases left this year (Rainbow Six Siege, Just Cause 3, Xenoblade Chronicles X), pretty much all of the biggest games have released by now. Personally, I'll be grabbing Xenoblade Chronicles X, but that will probably be the last console game for me unless I find some outstanding deals otherwise. Next actual planned purchase after that is Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam in January, though I have a few games on Steam I still need to pick up. So what about you? Are you basically finished with new purchases for the year after Black Friday? Or do you plan to splurge big time during the Steam winter sale?
  5. If you failed to fist fight your way through Target with the hopes of snagging a Microsoft Points Card at half price, then I've got some bad news. Because you quite literally just missed another great sale. And you didn't even have to elbow anybody to get it! Yes, Gamestop was selling Microsoft points cards at a discounted price. Specifically the 1200 and 2400 points cards. Just how much money would you have saved? Well, the 1200 points cards were listed at $10 (which is a $5 saving) and the 2400MSP was $20 (a $10 saving!) The cards themselves were special edition Naughty Bear and Worms Revolution which might explain the price mistake found on the cards, but really if you're reading this right now then you just missed it. If you would like to enrage yourself a bit more then feel free to read this Cheapassgamer thread where people did get in on the deal. Sorry You Missed It
  6. Did you brave the masses and cold to shop on Black Friday? The whole week was peppered with deals so even if you didn't go out, chances are high you were able to purchase something. Regardless, droves of people went out from November 18th to 23rd and bought video game hardware. Between Nintendo and Microsoft though, Microsoft came out on top in regards to their latest home consoles. How many Xbox 360 units were snapped up? The estimate is 750,000 units which certainly isn't bad for a seven year old system. There were many deals on the system over the week which helped make the device an even more enticing bargain, such as the Kinect and Skylanders bundles. Also revealed was that the amount of Xbox Live subscribers increased 43%, due in large part to all the new systems getting connected in homes. In comparison, Wii U's also flew off shelves, but in a lesser amount. 400,000 units were sold over the same period. This hardly means Nintendo has lost their touch, however. Between their Wii U, Wii, 3DS, and older DS models, they managed to sell 1.2 million devices in the same time span. While the Wii U may not have conquered the home market over the holidays, Nintendo is still a mighty contender. What gaming deals did you get over Black Friday? Did you buy any systems?
  7. http://www.destructoid.com/walmart-s-black-friday-deals-put-best-buy-to-shame-238228.phtml Walmart has let their gaming Black Friday deals be known. And, well... they're better than Best Buy's, for the ones that match up. Borderlands 2 and XCOM for $25? Sounds pretty great! Of course, Walmart is a terrifying place on Black Friday... might be worth paying the little extra to not get trampled.
