  1. We're just a week out from the release of Choice Provision's Runner3 and the anticipation fans are feeling couldn't be any higher. But if you thought Choice Provisions was done announcing surprises, think again. The developer revealed that two high-profile indie characters will be able to be unlocked as playable characters in-game. First up is Yacht Club's Shovel Knight, who has made cameo appearances in a number of indie games since his self-titled, breakout game in 2014. As for the second character, it's none other than Eddie Riggs, the protagonist of Brutal Legend. Fans may recall that Double Fine recently received the rights back from EA for the game, meaning you could possibly see Eddie Riggs make appearances in other games as well. Finally, a third character that was revealed was none other than Charles Martinet, also known as The Narrator of Runner2 and Runner3. But you would probably know him better as the iconic voice of Nintendo's Mario for the last 22 years. I... probably wouldn't expect to hear him do Mario's voice here, however. You know, all of that copyright stuff and such. You can play as all three cameo characters (well, when you unlock them) when Runner3 hits the Nintendo Switch eShop first on May 22 and then on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC at a later date. 2. Over the past few years, Choice Provisions has put out a number of different indie titles (including the arcade-like Whoa Dave! and this year's Tharsis), but die-hard fans of the developer will remember that they originally got their start as Gaijin Games and focused for a few years on building their Bit.Trip line of games. The most popular game in that series turned out to be Bit.Trip Runner, and in 2013 they released a direct sequel/spin-off called Runner 2: Future Legend of Rhythm Alien which departed from the 8-bit aesthetic of previous games and instead took more of a 3D cartoon-like look. Now, after 3 years, they're finally making another sequel in the series, this time called Runner 3. Choice Provisions released a short teaser earlier today that literally only shows the game's title and a targeted release window of 2017, which seems to indicate that the game might still be too early to show off at this point. No platforms have been announced at this time, though Choice Provisions has supported all of the major console and handheld platforms in the past. At any rate, you can expect to hear more news on Runner 3 as we head into the new year. Are you excited for Runner 3?
  3. The newly renamed Choice Provisions (known previously as Gaijin Games, the developer behind last year's Bit Trip Presents...Runner 2: Future Legend of Rhythm Alien) has released a trailer for their newest upcoming arcade-inspired title called Whoa Dave!. In the game, the premise is to destroy monsters, steal their change, and survive. As the trailer shows, this is easier said than done, as Whoa Dave! is fast, frantic, and pretty challenging. Choice Provisions has announced that the game is currently slated for release on 3DS, PS Vita, iOS, Android, Steam, and OUYA, with possibly more platforms to come later. They're also working on determining a release date, which could be as soon as this Summer, and mention that it will "definitely be out soon." In the meantime, be sure to check out the game's trailer below. Source: Totally Choice Are you interested in Whoa Dave!? Let us know below!
