  1. If you guys haven't seen yet, Lay's has three new chip flavors that have been circulating for a few months now. They are... I've gotten to try all three, so here's what I think of them. CRISPY TACO Surprisingly tastes a lot like Tacos, honestly. Your first thought might be, "Sure, it probably tastes like that because it's just a taco seasoning mixture used on the chips," but you can almost taste the meat as well, if that makes sense. All in all, it's a really good chip flavor. EVERYTHING BAGEL If you like bagels, then you know the Everything Bagel (which has onion, poppyseed, and sesame seed) is far and away one of the best and tastiest ones. UNFORTUNATELY, this doesn't taste much like it, imo. Maybe it tastes like the cream cheese? Honestly, it tastes a lot more like a cheese flavor overall. FRIED GREEN TOMATO This one is difficult to describe. I've never had real fried green tomatoes, so I can't speak to the authenticity of how true it is to the real thing, but it's not bad. There's a certain taste to it that I can't pin; a certain spice they use. Not my favorite of the flavors but not bad either. SO WHICH ONE IS THE BEST?
  2. If you're a pizza connoisseur, then this might interest you. It's pizza in a pizza box... made of pizza. Sadly, I don't think it's real (like an actual buyable thing), nor is it really practical for that matter, but it does look pretty crazy, haha. Would you try this if you could really buy it?
  3. I can't remember if Trader Joe's is all over the US or not (too lazy to look it up too, ha), but they apparently just added pretzel bagels and Baconesque White Cheddar Popcorn to their list of ever-increasing food supply stuffs in their stores. And I gotta tell you, the pretzel bagels are the bomb diggity. They are 230 calories or something like that, though. Sodium is probably a little higher than normal as well. But they're good! I'm pretty sure everything should be pretzel-flavored now (hey, there's pretzel-crust pizza now as well). As for the Baconesque White Cheddar Popcorn, it's pretty good as well. Definitely tastes like bacon (supposedly it's rolled with bacon smoke to give it the flavor); dunno if it's my favorite popcorn ever, but I'd definitely recommend trying it out. Have any of you tried these yet? Any interest in them if not?

Is Eating Healthy A Priority For You?

I have to admit that up until this year, I would largely eat what I wanted whenever I wanted to. Unfortunately, as with age, your metabolism slows, so the subject of eating healthier has been on my mind a lot more recently. Although I seem to carry my weight pretty well (some people confuse me with being skinny), I am somewhat over my ideal weight (although not obese) for a person my age and height, so I'm trying to cut back on a lot of things, such as anything made with white flour (enriched or otherwise) and sugar, as well as other things that are high in calorie-count or fat. It's been a little hard as I do enjoy things like donuts, soda, cookies, and hamburgers, but those things do contribute a lot to putting on pounds, so I'm currently trying to avoid them as well as incorporating more fruits and vegetables in my diet (and drinking more water). Anyhow, we'll see what happens, but I'm hopeful this routine will lead to a more satisfactory weight and such (as well as having more energy and whatnot). What about you? Do you watch a lot of what you eat, or do you just eat whatever and think little of it?

    The Cookie Dough Cafe

Have you guys heard of The Cookie Dough Cafe before? It was a business that appeared on ABC's The Shark Tank, and they exclusively make edible gourmet cookie dough that's safe to eat. Also, it can't be baked, since there are no active baking ingredients (like baking soda, I'd guess); it's designed only to be eaten as is. Looks really good IMO, though it's kind of expensive. You can only buy them in a 4 pint pack for $50 and they come with four different flavors. Once I get some more spending money, I'll probably check it out and report back here how it is. They do have at least one brick-and-mortar store up and running too, but I think it's in CA somewhere. Anyhow, does edible gourmet cookie dough (not the kind that you buy from a freezer and unwrap; that's technically not safe to eat raw) appeal to you?
  6. So here's a question for you; I dunno why, but I always like thinking about hypothetical questions like this, and this one I've been thinking about for a long time, so here it is- If you could only eat or drink (and not the other) for the rest of your life, which would you choose to do? Also, in this scenario, let's say that only being able to eat would mean that you don't need to sustain yourself with water and you wouldn't get thirsty (or need to wash down food when eating), and vice-versa for drinking as well. Also, I know that not being able to drink but being able to eat is an impossible scenario (if you can eat, you should be able to drink too), but this is an entirely fictional, hypothetical scenario. I go back and forth on my decision all the time, but I'd probably go with only being able to drink, but that's likely because I just can't imagine not being thirsty, haha. But man, not drinking also means no alcohol in addition to no coffee and so forth; so many good drinks to miss out on. But only being able to eat without needing to drink would be tough to miss out on too, so I dunno. Like I said, it's a tough question! So which would you choose, and why?

What is your favorite kind of steak?

Alright, time for another weekly food question. This time, it's all about steak! What's your favorite kind of steak (or cut of meat)? There's a number of really good ones out there but personally I tend to favor brisket. So tender and juicy, especially with a nice sauce or something else for flavor. Other great cuts that I like include ribeye and sirloin. Ribs are great as well; I like 'em to be falling off the bone, haha. So yeah, what is your favorite kind of meat/steak? And do you grill at all?
  8. Saw this on Twitter and thought it was pretty cool, so decided to share here. Basically, you can make crazy thick pancakes with your rice cooker, lol. Check out the full article here!

  10. Ok, technically it's not really a 3D printer since it doesn't "print" burritos, but it does make them and that's cool enough, right? Anyhow, a guy at NYU made a machine called "BurritoBot" that makes burritos to your liking. See the full article below: Source: Technology-Digital
