http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/12/02/gta-5-lindsay-lohan-supposedly-ready-to-sue-rockstar In today's lolwut headline, it appears Li-lo might sue Rockstar over a character that seems to be based on her in GTAV. Can't imagine she'll get very far; even if the character is intentionally based on her, it's probably a parody, which would make her claim invalid.

Taken from Milkman at GDD. Been meaning to post this. This trailer actually makes me want to play GTA 5 even though I have never played any of the GTA games. I have always been more or less "meh" about the series. I did want to play it just to know what the fuss is about. But this multiplayer is cool and we could totally do a GP clan mjuahhahaha.

I'm excited for the Playstation 4. In fact, I still have my preorder set up and ready to go in the event that I change my mind. But I've come into a bit of a problem when it comes to actually purchasing the system. That problem just happens to be the Playstation 3. And time. But we'll get to that in a minute. First we'll talk about what that pesky Playstation 3 is doing to sabotage my interest in the PS4. Playstation Plus Has Given Me A Backlog I don't normally buy video games right when they come out. I'm a spend thrift at heart, and only the most hyped up or story driven titles can get my attention right when they release. This has worked out for me for the last few years thanks to the fact that more and more AAA titles seem to tank in price after the first two weeks of being on store shelves. But in the last year or so, something new came onto my radar. I've still got three years of the stuff left That thing was of course, Playstation Plus. I've only ever actually paid the full five dollars for a single month of the service. Despite this, I'm currently all paid up through Christmas, 2014. Aren't contests just great? The point is, I've got a lot of free games being hurled at me with very little time to actually play them. Of the dozens of games I've already received, I've probably only beaten three of them. The rest? All in my quickly forming backlog. To make matters worse/better, the Playstation 4 will be included in the Playstation Plus service from day one. So not only do I have a huge backlog of unplayed games, but the longer I wait to buy the new console, the bigger of a backlog I'll have waiting for me once I take the dive. Games, Games, Games The fact of the matter is, none of the Playstation 4's launch titles really excite me. Knack looks like a winner and I'm sure I'd play Killzone: Shadowfall at some point, but nothing they're offering at release is really a "must have" title so far. Of course, there are a lot of really big games releasing in the months following the system's release, but those are still almost half a year away. I'm only getting this game for the Willem Dafoe aspect I'm okay with waiting for those. In fact, waiting might even land me a better deal on the console after it releases, and that would just make it all the sweeter when I do go out to buy the console. Until then, the PS3 is here and ready to go, and there are still some pretty big games coming out well into the PS4's release. Games like Grand Theft Auto V and Beyond: Two Souls. While those are the only two releases I'm really hyped up for at the moment, that is still $120 out of pocket for those since I'll be buying them on day one. Not a lot of money considering it'll be spent over the span of a few months, but it is chump change compared to the problems the PS4 would cause for my wallet. Remember Remember, What Comes After November The Xbox One and Playstation 4 are both seemingly scheduled for release this November. Just in time for the chaos brought on by Black Friday to take system sales by the horns and really bring up each competing company's sales numbers right out of the gate. While that is all great for them, it causes one serious problem for me. And that is Christmas. Santa really hasn't been carrying his weight lately I've got a very large family, and each year during the holidays I make it my mission to knock their socks off on Christmas morning. As you might expect, this makes things very expensive for me very quickly. But that isn't the problem for me. The problem comes from me spending half a grand on myself a month before Christmas. I just can't do it. If I did end up buying a Playstation 4 this year, it would end up being a gift for someone else just because of how close to the holidays that the console giants are releasing their systems. Of course, this shouldn't stop you from buying yourself one of the big three later this year, but don't be surprised if you start hearing about more people cancelling their pre-orders as the months drag ever closer. As always, thank you for reading.

Rockstar's Asked & Answered Answers Blunt Question with GTA5 Screenshots
Marshall Henderson posted a article in Industry News
Rockstar showed off some new screenshots of the upcoming Grand Theft Auto 5, thanks to a question asked by some person who wasn't messing around. "Why don't you give us more news?" a fan asked without preamble. Rockstar gave the usual answer for this sort of thing, informing the question-asker that they wanted to give fans correct information, and wanting to hold back surprises for when the game actually released and whatnot. Then, like a parent producing candy after lecturing their child on the lesson of patience, Rockstar's responder offered a pair of pictures to show off just a small portion of the game. Clearly helicopters are making a return, which fans will likely enjoy, because the cityscape available looks like it would be interesting to fly overtop. A second image was also revealed, however, that's a little more grounded. This beachfront scene shows off what's presumably a couple of characters apart from the teem, some flora on the horizon, and water reflecting it all. It's good that they didn't just share the one above, because, if there's one shot to show off the work put into the game, it would be this one. No official release date has been announced, so we'll keep an eye out for that, but it has been nearly a year since Grand Theft Auto V's announcement, so it'll probably be some time soon.-

Why Grand Theft Auto Needs a Female Protagonist
Leah posted a blog entry in Leah's Little Blog of Gaming
The Grand Theft Auto series is undoubtedly a very popular one. In the many different installments developed, players have been hijacking cars and causing havoc for years, especially with the popularity of Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. Now, we“re getting a brand new entry added to this awesome series from Rockstar. With the recent announcement of Grand Theft Auto V, many fans are speculating over the various possibilities the game could present. One of the big areas of discussion is who the protagonist of this game might be. Rockstar has done a fabulous job already representing different races, ethnicities, and nationalities. Furthermore, while it's mostly talk of someone that has already appeared in previous Grand Theft Auto installments, those who do offer their own ideas of someone that is new to the series rarely suggest a female protagonist over a male one. Look at all those handsome men… But… where are the ladies? Getting to the point, what the Grand Theft Auto series desperately needs is a female protagonist. After over ten years of the series, I believe we are exceedingly overdue for a woman to take the reins. Not just an over-sexualized gal who barely wears anything, either, but someone who“s strong and kicks an extreme amount of butt. We see men as the main characters in games such as Grand Theft Auto all the time (not to mention movies, television, and books). A woman“s impact and view into the crime world of the Grand Theft Auto series could present something fresh for players. The dramatic change from a male to female protagonist could be great if necessary and deep thought is put into place. It's even difficult to find female protagonists in any game that exude these qualities. While Lara Croft and Bayonetta are big name ladies and do get the job done well, they obviously put out as much fanservice as possible. While the way they are presented isn't necessarily wrong, it's less than ideal. Moreover, let“s face it: do we really want another typical woman like that to play as? Samus from the Metroid series, on the other hand, is an excellent way of having a woman being portrayed in video games (well, maybe not in Metroid: Other M, but that's a topic for another day). Other women that I picture in mind include Jade from Beyond Good & Evil and Lightning from Final Fantasy XIII. These ladies know how to get stuff done. Now getting back to the topic at hand… Gamers may be scared to even try out a game that has only a female protagonist. It“s happened before with games in the past such as Final Fantasy X-2 and Wet. Not to mention the way our society is driven: growing up with stories about men rescuing the damsel-in-distress and therefore saving the day. Developers like Rockstar realize this and it“s probably why they haven“t tried it yet. However, if they play their cards right and put careful thought into how this could all work out, gamers will put aside the fact that the character that they are playing as is female and appreciate that she is just as strong and adamant as the characters Rockstar has created before. With Grand Theft Auto being a big-name series, it could possibly even lead the game industry in a new and different direction with how female protagonists are handled and trying to insert them as lead characters more often. Not to mention possibly bringing some more female gamers into trying out the Grand Theft Auto series. While this is a fake screenshot, at least someone else out there desires a female protagonist enough to make it in the first place. While I would love for it to happen in the upcoming release of Grand Theft Auto V, it most likely won“t happen (and if it does, I will most certainly be much more excited and more apt to pick the game up!). It may be a while before Rockstar does put a lady as the main character of a Grand Theft Auto game, unfortunately. Hopefully, fans of the series share my thoughts and will become vocal and noticeable enough to catch Rockstar“s attention so that this may be a plausible future.
