  1. In previous years, pinball on consoles was almost all but exclusive to Pinball FX/Zen Pinball and Pinball Arcade, but now indie developers are thinking outside the box and introducing the genre in pretty interesting new ways. Case in point: Villa Gorilla's upcoming Yoku's Island Express, a game they're describing as an 'open world pinball adventure.' As you might guess, the game isn't just a pinball title -- it's actually a blend of Metroidvania adventure with pinball mechanics. The titular protagonist Yoku is a dung beetle who becomes Mokumana Island's new postman. You'll explore the island, meet its different inhabitants and visit different areas, and in the process help wake its ancient island god, whose nightmares are affecting the island with quakes and storms. Yoku's Island Express certainly looks promising so far, with its hand-made visuals and locations which are said to be inspired by the likes of Studio Ghibli's works. It's currently in the works for PC and consoles, though no specific consoles have been detailed at this time. Expect to hear more about the game over GDC in the upcoming week and in the lead up to its release, which is being targeted for a late 2017/early 2018 launch window. Check out the game's announcement trailer below! Source: Press Release Are you interested in seeing more of Yoku's Island Express?

    Favorite Pinball Games/Tables?

I've actually been on a pinball craze as of late for the first time since I was addicted to 3D Space Cadet Pinball on Windows (yeah... that game ). It was Zen Pinball that reignited my love for pinball games (especially with their Marvel and Star Wars pinball tables), but my recent obsession has been with Pinball Arcade (which I downloaded free as an instant game with PS+), especially with the Pinbot table. Pinbot was actually the very first pinball game I played (on the NES), so there is somewhat of a nostalgic attachment for me, but it's also an incredibly fun and addictive table, so it's probably easily my favorite. What about you? Are there are any pinball tables/games you'd consider your favorite? Or even if you're not too into pinball, are there any that you remember playing at all?

Pinball Heroes: Complete Now Available on Vita

Pinball aficionados may be aware of the Pinball Heroes name. It was in 2009 when a game by such a title released on PSP. Now that it's been a while, and the PSP is no longer in vogue, a new version is being made available for Vita owners. This game is of course Pinball Heroes: Complete. It includes all eight original tables, although some of these do show their age. Tables are based off of Sony properties such as Fat Princess, ModNation Racers, and Uncharted: Drake's Fortune. What makes Complete a step up from the old version? High scores, which are important to many pinball lovers, can finally be shared between players. You can also face against others with custom online tournaments. Of course, touch-based control is also included since the game is on Vita. You can grab Pinball Heroes: Complete for $6 today.
