  1. Usually pre-order bonuses for video games range from Limited Editions to DLC weapons and costumes, but I think SEGA has broke new ground in their pre-order bonus for the Wii U version of Sonic: Lost World coming out the 29th of this month. If you pre-order the title, you get a download code for... twenty-five extra lives. It's certainly a different type of pre-order than the norm, but one has to wonder if you really need those extra lives. Oh, and don't forget that pre-ordering the game from any retailer will ensure you get the Deadly Six Bonus Edition, so the lives are an extra incentive to buy from Amazon. What do you think of this interesting pre-order bonus?
  2. If you've been waiting for Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII then it's likely a pre-order is already out there somewhere with your name on it. Hopefully you've selected a popular retailer such as Amazon or GameStop as a silly pre-order bonus is coming for those customers. Those who pre-order at participating retailers (so far only Amazon was named) will get a dose of Final Fantasy VII in the game. Lightning gets the bonus of Cloud Strife's sword as well as his distinctive outfit. The bonus is available for both PS3 and 360 customers. If this is something you'd like to take advantage of then be sure to put a pre-order down before Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII arrives on February 11th, 2014.

Pre-Order Xbox One for Exclusive Controller

Did today's Microsoft press conference sell you on the system? If so, then you're probably going to want to pre-order it to make sure you get the console on the very first day. Microsoft used their official news site to reveal that you can get a few exclusive extras if you do so. The content consists of a limited edition controller. The button layout and design are exactly the same as a regular Xbox One controller minus one thing. On the center of the controller it says "DAY ONE 2013". Players also get an exclusive Achievement, which seems the far sillier selling point. Pre-ordering directly through Microsoft or other other participating retailers (Amazon, Best Buy, GameStop, Target, Toys 'R Us, Wal-Mart) grants you the exclusives. Xbox One is out this November for $500.
  4. Is exclusive in-game content important to you in your games? Well, Ubisoft has revealed Assassin's Creed IV DLC pre-order bonuses for different retailers today. GameStop: Black Island treasure-hunting mission, Deadly Black Ship, Captain Morgan's costumes, and Captain Morgan's gun Amazon: Mystery Island treasure-hunting mission, Stede Bonnet's ship, and Stede Bonnet's costumes and other MP items Walmart: Sacrifice Island treasure-hunting mission, Captain Drake's dual wield swords and pistols, and Drake's picture, title, and relics Best Buy: Ivory Wheel and Spyglass Relic Target: Iron Wheel and Astrolab Relic Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag will be available for PS3, 360, and Wii U on October 29th. There are currently no release dates for the PS4 and PC versions. Where will you pre-order from?
  5. Soul Sacrifice is fast approaching its Vita launch. North American gamers will be able to get their hands on it on April 30th, although a demo is currently available. This demo even allows users to transfer their saves over to the full game. With that said, the demo loses online abilities as soon as Soul Sacrifice launches, which means you really should give the demo a spin if you're curious. With that said, players should already be mostly aware as to whether or not they want the game day one or not. There are a few digital pre-order bonuses which could help sway a few people. Let's take a moment to remind everyone as to what they are comprised of. The bonuses include two unique costumes, three magic items, and a Japanese language pack. The first two items are exclusive to pre-orders but the Japanese voice pack is going to be available as a separate purchase. Still, those with a taste for Japanese voice acting would probably be best served by getting it as free DLC. Here's the trailer posted to PlayStation Blog which shows off the pre-order extras:
  6. 11 bit studios is doing something a little unorthodox to promote their upcoming game. You may be familiar with the developer as they were behind Anomaly Warzone Earth and other titles. In hoping to drum up attention for their next game, they are offering a full 50% discount for pre-orders. The only thing is, this massive discount only applies while they have yet to announce what the game even is. Right now, it's a secret and will remain that way (if 11 bit studios can help it) until February 28th's unveiling. Their unannounced game has a secret webpage but it only shows off a teaser trailer and FAQ. Anyone who pre-orders during this period will get access to the beta in March. The secret title itself is looking to be launched sometime between March and June. They won't be issuing refunds, so if you are at all unsure about purchasing blind - don't! However, all those who jump in now are also set to get a "gift" alongside the game's announcement. The game will be playable on Windows, Mac, and Linux through Steam.
  7. Atlus is no stranger to including extra items for those who pre-order (or pick up the first run) of their games. As such, it shouldn't come as much of a surprise to see they're doing so with Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers. Regardless, here's the news to keep Atlus fans in the loop! The official game site has been updated with the announcement. Pre-ordering the game from specific retailers will net you the Arranged Soundtrack disc packaged with the game. The U.S. retailers offering said promotion are GameStop and Amazon. Which tracks are on this CD? There are only six, but they are the six top songs that were chosen by Japanese fans. What is Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers? The game originated back in the 90s for PlayStation and Saturn. It was a part of the Megami Tensei world and was a futuristic sort of RPG. Back then, the game never saw release outside of Japan, which is why it is so exciting to see the remake available to us. Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers launches on April 16th. Will you be picking up Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers?
  8. The sequel to the samurai romancing visual novel, Hakuoki: Demon of the Fleeting Blossom, will be ready for PSPs and Vitas starting February 19th! Except Hakuoki: Warriors of the Shinsengumi isn't a visual novel, but a hack-and-slash game. Yup, you'll get to play as six of the samurai you know and love from the original game as you battle enemies and furies. Warriors of the Shinsengumi also contains two storylines – one where you“re able to relive the events of Demon of the Fleeting Blossom and one that takes place in an alternate universe where things happen quite differently. All retail copies of Hakuoki: Warriors of the Shinsengumi will also come with a 16-page full-color character guide. Neat! But that's not all! If you pre-order from Amazon, you'll get your hands on a rather fetching bandana that features all of the playable samurai warriors of Warriors of the Shinsengumi. Will you be pre-ordering Hakuoki: Warriors of the Shinsengumi for the really cool bandana?
  9. Just a couple days ago, Natsume reported that Harvest Moon: A New Beginning for 3DS went gold as we slowly approach its release date of November 6th. They had also recently announced that pre-orders for the special 15th Anniversary Edition (that includes a 12" cow plushie) would end on October 23rd. But as of yesterday, there's a bit of pleasantly surprising news for those who have been eagerly awaiting their copy of A New Beginning. Yup, pre-orders for A New Beginning will start shipping TODAY. And that's not just for the 15th Anniversary Edition orders from the Natsume online store, either. This also applies to shipments to retail stores like GameStop, where you will see copies sitting on shelves as early as next week. For those worried that they should have ordered the 15th Anniversary Edition for that super cute, ginormous cow plushie sooner... It's still available for purchase until the 23rd of this month, as originally said!
  10. Looks like Aksys will be giving a super awesome pre-order bonus for Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward, the sequel to the highly-praised 999: Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors! Like the original 999 pre-order bonus, the one for Zero Escape will also be a wearable wrist watch modeled after the bracelet featured in the game. The Zero Escape wrist watch pre-order bonus is available in three colors: red, blue, and green. This offer is Amazon-exclusive and applies to both the 3DS and Vita versions of the game. Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward will be released in North America on October 23rd. Be prepared! Will you be pre-ordering Zero Escape for 3DS or Vita?
  11. Fans that have been following news for the upcoming farming simulator, Harvest Moon: A New Beginning, for Nintendo 3DS already know about the ultra adorable yak plushie pre-order bonus Natsume is offering. Today, however, they've announced an extra special "15th Anniversary Edition" of A New Beginning. What's so special about it? A never-before-released giant cow plushie! This cow plushie is a whopping 12 inches. The 15th Anniversary Edition that includes it will only be available through the online Natsume store for $50. Pre-orders start on September 24th, so mark your calendars! For those not willing to cough up ten extra dollars, you can still pre-order A New Beginning for $40 and get the yak plushie bonus at participating retailers. Please note that you cannot get the yak plushie with the 15th Anniversary Edition, too (unfortunately!). Also, the game itself, whether you purchase the "standard" or "15th Anniversary Edition", is exactly the same. There is no special version of the game. Harvest Moon: A New Beginning will be available for purchase in North America on November 6th. Get ready for the most customizable Harvest Moon adventure yet, fellow farmers! What do you think of this premium cow plushie pre-order bonus? Will you be getting the 15th Anniversary Edition, or the standard edition with the yak plushie pre-order bonus instead?
  12. Another Harvest Moon game means another adorable farm animal plushie as a pre-order bonus from Natsume. This time, anybody that pre-orders a copy of Harvest Moon: A New Beginning for 3DS will get a yak plushie (as seen to the right). Why a yak? They're making their first appearance in the series as an farm animal you can own in Harvest Moon: A New Beginning. Harvest Moon: A New Beginning is the first game in the series made exclusively for the 3DS. It brings a lot of firsts to the series, such as being able to customize how your whole farm looks and being able to change your character's appearance COMPLETELY from head to toe. That includes hair style and skin color! So far, the only confirmed retailer that will have the yak plushie pre-order bonus is GameStop. Natsume will be releasing more information on more ways to net the little guy sometime soon.
  13. Well, here's something new being done for pre-orders and special editions! Namco Bandai is not only bringing the special Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch - Wizard's Edition here to the states, but they're also offering the chance to include MORE goodies with it. That is, they'll put in more and more stuff depending on just how many pre-orders there are. Aptly named "Ninostarter", this Kickstarter-like campaign run by Namco Bandai will include more content in the Wizard's Edition package based on how many pre-orders are put down. So far, the Ninostarter is still reaching for goal #1 at 59%, which is for a set of 5 Ni no Kuni prints. Pre-orders contributing towards this campaign are valid only until August 31 of this year. So if you're thinking about purchasing the Wizard's Edition of Ni no Kuni, you'd better do it soon! I've already got mine ordered and have contributed towards Ninostarter, now it's your turn.
  14. If you're hungry for more news regarding Sony's All-Star brawler, you'll be pleased to know that the game finally has a solid release date: October 23! Details on the pricing of PS3 and Vita versions of the game are still coming, so stay tuned. To get you even more excited for its release, they've announced a pre-order incentive in the form of a set of exclusive costumes for every character in the game. And even though there will be plenty of unlockable costumes in the game itself, these exclusive costumes will only be available by pre-ordering the game, so make sure you get on that if this is something that appeals to you. Details on the pricing of PS3 and Vita versions of the game are still coming, so stay tuned. In addition, two more characters will be announced at EVO later today, adding to the existing roster of 8 characters. Who will they be? We'll find out shortly!
