Anyone see anything of interest in the sale or pre-orders?

    Double Insomnia Promo Goes Live

Who needs sleep when there's some pretty great deals to be had? The Double Insomnia promo is going strong on GOG.com with over 150 titles on sale for up to 90% off. While this is not a new sort of promo, it offers up a lot more than the previous year. Two pools of discounts, from much-loved classics to new titles, are up for grabs. But you'll have to keep one eye open as titles are available in limited qualities and once sold out, a new one will take its place. This promo will run until all titles are sold out. How long will that take? Depends on how fast the games sell. Source: GOG.com Who all plans to stay up in hopes of a great deal?

  6. Intersting to hear that Capcom is available for purchase. Hmm Read more here What do you guys think? Who should buy Capcom? I really think NIntendo should take a chance and buy them. I mean Capcom's games on Nintendo's handheld and console has been a huge hit. Since Mega Man is on Smash, It would be awesome to see Nintendo bring him back for his own game again.

Steam Summer Sale 2013 Now Underway

In case you somehow managed to miss hearing about it, the annual Steam Summer Sale launched at 10 AM PST today! There's a whole lot here standard to Steam sales but there's at least one new change as well. The change is connected to Steam Trading Cards, which just recently left beta status. First, here are the daily deals: Call of Juarez: Gunslinger - $10.04 Defiance - $13.59 Don't Starve - $8.99 Endless Space - $4.99 Hotline Miami - $2.49 Left 4 Dead 2 - $4.99 Scribblenauts Unlimited - $4.99 Toki Tori 2+ - $9.89 So with that said let's get back to the whole cards deal. There's a Summer Getaway Badge that you can get by crafting a series of ten Trading Cards into it. These are specific cards which are only given out during the sale period. You get one every $10 you spend on the sale, crafting other badges, voting, trading, or buying from Community Market. Of course, you don't need to participate in this unless you want the silly badge.

Green Man Gaming Starts a Devilish Summer Sale

Sure, you use Steam or GOG, but have you ever tried Green Man Gaming? Although the site is not as well known, they do often offer up surprisingly great discounts on PC games. For the most part, they also even offer Steam keys in case you're worried about getting games that don't activate on Valve's service. GMG has begun their latest sale today and titled it 666 Deals. Yep, the number of the beast is used because of how the sale functions. Six games go on sale for six hours, and this continues for six days. Why relate the sale to hellish things? Perhaps it's because we're smack dab in the middle of a heat wave! Anyway, here are the very first six deals: Borderlands 2 + Season Pass - $14.99 Guns of Icarus Online - $3.99 Killing Floor - $4.99 Lucius - $4.99 Resident Evil 6 - $19.99 Star Trek - $16.99 Of course by the time you look at this the deals may have already been swapped out. Anyway, keep an eye on GMG if you'd like to snipe a nice deal. Of course, Steam's own Summer Sale is fast approaching so you might have to keep an eye on both soon enough.

FE is a no-brainer at that price, and some of the other games are definitely worth grabbing too!
  11. This is a pretty good price...if you can get past the fact that it's on Origin: http://store.origin.com/store/ea/en_US/DisplayProductDetailsPage/productID.273547900 Just throwing it out there for anyone interested, since I know some people were waiting for it to be in the $20-$30 range before buying it.
  12. This obviously won't last for very long, but Amazon is technically paying their own customers to buy Playstation All-Stars: Battle Royale from them. How exactly did this happen? Well its all thanks to Sony's cross buy promotion and a poorly timed sale. Here are the details. As you all know, every brand new copy of Playstation All-Stars comes with a free Vita version of the game. The PS3 version of the game itself is currently on sale at Amazon for $30. While that would normally just be an okay deal, you have to factor in their current promotion where if you trade $20 worth of games into Amazon, you get an extra $20. How much does Playstation All-Stars trade in for? $22. So if you were to act now, you could buy Playstation All-Stars for $30, trade it in for $40, and then keep the Vita version of the game for yourself. You're essentially getting paid ten dollars to own the Vita version of the game. But again, this is only going to go on for so long before Amazon realizes that stacking sales and promotions like this is a bad idea. So if you're going to stick it to Amazon, you better do it quick. You can view the sale page below. Playstation All-Stars Amazon trade in promotion EDIT: Surprise surprise. Amazon has cut the trade in value in half. So no more free games and money for you.

A Valley Without Wind 2 Flutters to Steam

Have you ever played A Valley Without Wind? The game originally hit Steam last year and, while garnering a following, wasn't a massive hit. Still, the chances of you having a copy in your Steam library are fairly high. If so, take a look through your set of games as those with the original should see the sequel sitting squarely next to it. Those who did not already own the game have unfortunately missed out on a free copy of the sequel. Regardless, today's launch of A Valley Without Wind 2 still has a handful of deals. Buying the game costs $11.25 for launch week, which is a 25% discount. However, you are also buying the original with it. This is a pretty kind gesture by the developers to get both games out for the cost of one. One big focus of the randomly generated Metroidvania and strategy experience is co-op between two to eight players. Because the game may be best enjoyed with friends, there is also a sale on a four pack (currently priced at $33.74). Even this four pack comes with the two titles, which means you're buying eight games. Take a look at A Valley Without Wind 2's launch trailer to get a feel for the indie endeavor:
  14. After much preparation, Steam for Linux has finally come out of beta and is now open for all. To help commemorate the launch, Steam is holding a sale on tons of games. In fact, every game with Linux support has been discounted and will remain that way until the 21st. Even if you don't have Linux, you can still buy any of these games for their sale prices. Many of the usual games are on sale, such as Amnesia and Killing Floor. There are also a great deal of indie games available, including popular titles Anomaly Warzone Earth, Eversion, FTL, and Magical Diary. Overall, there's about 50 games on sale so chances are there's at least one thing worth purchasing. In order to run Steam for Linux you have to be running the latest distribution of Ubuntu. If you're planning on installing, or already have it running, then you may want to boot up a game of Team Fortress 2. Everyone who plays TF2 on Linux from now to March 1st will get a free Tux in-game item.
  15. Have you been whittling away your cash on this month's swarm of bundles? Stop! Well, you don't have to, but toady the Steam sale has gone live which will lead to a much larger loss of money. The latest annual Steam Holiday Sale went live at 10 AM PST today and will be going until January 5th. Let's start by explaining the basics for anyone who has never weathered a Steam sale before. Each day there will be new Daily Deals going up at 10 AM. Alongside those sales, there are also Flash Sales. These are a more recent addition and change even more frequently than the Dailies. They have their own counters to let you know how long they will be available. Then there is a section which allows you to vote on which game should receive a sale next. Whichever gains the most amount of votes in the timeframe will be granted sale access. Then there is the rest of Steam which, for the most part, will also be on sale. Not every game is on sale, but a very, very large chunk of the storefront is. The games and packs that are on sale (not as part of a Daily or Flash deal) will continue to be on sale for the entire sale timeframe. Therefore, don't feel stressed to look through the entire catalog in one day as they will still be on sale tomorrow. Finally, there is one new change that will benefit those who would like to go a day without refreshing Steam. Now you are able to get alerts from Steam when a game on your wishlist goes on sale. Of course, many of us will still be constantly checking new deals anyway.
  16. If you failed to fist fight your way through Target with the hopes of snagging a Microsoft Points Card at half price, then I've got some bad news. Because you quite literally just missed another great sale. And you didn't even have to elbow anybody to get it! Yes, Gamestop was selling Microsoft points cards at a discounted price. Specifically the 1200 and 2400 points cards. Just how much money would you have saved? Well, the 1200 points cards were listed at $10 (which is a $5 saving) and the 2400MSP was $20 (a $10 saving!) The cards themselves were special edition Naughty Bear and Worms Revolution which might explain the price mistake found on the cards, but really if you're reading this right now then you just missed it. If you would like to enrage yourself a bit more then feel free to read this Cheapassgamer thread where people did get in on the deal. Sorry You Missed It
  17. While the masses of the United States were busy elbowing each other in the throats for a chance to save ten dollars on games like Dishonored, Assassin's Creed 3 and Call of Duty, the sensational Croatian Playstation Store was having a Black Friday sale of it's own. The reason it wasn't really advertised was because the Croatian PSN staff weren't actually aware of this sale themselves. Nope, this sale was entirely on accident. Accidents do happen, but they don't usually save people so much money. How much money did people save? Well let's take a look. The brand spanking new release of Hitman: Absolution and Sleeping Dogs costs just around $80 on the United States Playstation Store. The Croatian store had the price set at 80KN. While that might sound like an equally large number, it roughly translates to $13 American. A considerably not big number. What followed next was less than handled well. People saw the huge change in price and immediately started scooping up as many accounts as they could to sell later on the PSN black market. The Croatian Sony reacted by removing the ability to purchase PSN funds in an attempt to stop people from buying so many copies while they fixed the problem. Yeah, not exactly the best way to handle such a serious mistake. But now everything is back to normal and you totally missed out. Hurray for errors!

    Steam Autumn Sale is Live

It may not be the Summer or Winter sale, but when a big sale comes onto Steam it tends to be chock full of good deals. Just as was rumored earlier, the Steam Autumn Sale has just gone live today and offers a great bunch of deals. As with other big sales, this one will change deals daily, while some deals remain the same throughout. There are even flash sales, which were a recent addition to the last sale, which will be switched out even more often than the daily deals. The Steam Autumn Sale runs from today to the 26th. In case you're living in a cave (or outside of the United States) then recognize that the dates are selected to coincide with the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. As Black Friday and Cyber Monday are coming up too, it may be worth expecting extra special deals on those days. Here are the first round of daily deals to get you started: Age of Empires III Complete - $10 Darksiders II - $17 Magic: The Gathering - Duels of the Planeswalkers 2013 - $5 Terraria - $3.39 The Walking Dead - $12.49 XCOM: Enemy Unknown - $33.49 Current flash sales include Limbo, Payday: The Heist, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II and a handful of others. There are also deals on many indie games as well. Take a look there if you'd like to get Hotline Miami, Mark of the Ninja, or even Torchlight II at a bit of a discount. These indie game sales will continue throughout Steam's event although they may be selected for daily deals later on. Are there any games you're going to grab during the sale?

New PS3 Bundle Includes Year of PS Plus

Today on the PlayStation.Blog a new PS3 bundle was linked. The bundle, which is only available through Amazon, looks to be a fairly good way to get a start with the system for those who desire one. In fact, for the price it is cheaper than other sets for the same system version. This will definitely aid those looking to pick up a system for the holiday season. Let's dig in to what is included. There is a 320GB PS3 (Slim model, not the newer slimmer one) as well as a year's worth of PlayStation Plus subscription. With this, you are immediately granted three Instant Game Collection titles, which are inFamous 2, LittleBigPlanet 2, and Ratchet and Clank: All 4 One. Again, these are digital titles, not physical copies that come with the system. In comparison to other PS3 models, this is a fine deal due to the cost. 320GB PS3 Slims tend to go for about $300 without any extra frills. When factoring in that a PS Plus subscription retails for $50, you are basically getting it at no cost. Although the subscription definitely has perks, some people would prefer to give it a shot for free before deciding if its worth purchasing. Are you a PS Plus subscriber? Do you think this PS3 is a good deal?

Steam's Halloween Sale Going on Now

Were two bundles of horror games not enough for you? If so, then perhaps Steam will be where you want to spend your money. They have started up a Halloween Sale today and its full of games of varying degrees of scariness (some of which aren't creepy at all). Still, all but a few titles fit in some way into the blanket of Halloween-friendly. Series' like Left 4 Dead and F.E.A.R. are included, as well as many standalone games. Here are some of the highlights: Alan Wake - $15 Condemned: Criminal Origins - $7.50 Killing Floor - $5 Lone Survivor - $5 Painkiller Complete Pack - $7.50 They Bleed Pixels - $4 Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines - $5 The Walking Dead - $15 Games such as Amnesia are also on sale but at this point everyone probably has it from one Steam sale or another. Recently-released Lucius is also on sale, but only at 15%, but that isn't much of a sale. We're also inching closer to the eventual Steam Holiday Sale so some may choose to just hold out for that one. Do any of the games included in the sale interest you?

Fall Season Welcomes New Indie Royale

It's time for the next Indie Royale bundle! This time around it's being called The Fall Bundle and looks to contain some games that may interest a larger audience of gamers. There are five games included if you pay the minimum, with at least one extra expected if you go over. Here are the games you'll receive: AVSEQ (PC, Mac, Steam, Desura) Blackwell Deception (PC, Steam, Desura) Oil Rush (PC, Mac, Linux, Steam, Desura) Reprisal (Windows, Mac, Linux, Desura) To the Moon (PC, Steam, Desura) In case none of the titles are familiar, you may even want to check out our review of To the Moon. Currently, the minimum price is a few cents shy of $5. Considering this is a bundle of five games, paying a buck per game is hardly a big request. By paying $8 or over you unlock the album 88:88, which can be sampled here. Those who simply pay the minimum or somewhere in between will at least gain access to Oil Rush and Reprisal's original soundtrack. Here's the bundle trailer in case you need to see more about the titles included:
