With the US release of the Vita remixed Persona 4 The Golden only a few months away, Atlus recently released the opening movie that will greet the lucky players to the game.

I certainly like the funky "Soul Train" treatment for the cast coupled with the disturbing macabre of the neon colored corpses hanging from the rafters. In addition, the new opening movie showcases some of the extra features for the Vita game like the mopeds, winter wear events, and the mysterious new character showing up in the Velvet room with Igor and Margaret (things with that girl are getting curiouser and curiouser).

Overall, I find its quality and style to be on par with the PS2 rendition of Persona 4 and Persona 3's opening.

What do you folks think? Excited for the game?

I like the original opening better:

I prefer the original's as well, mainly because it's basically the main theme (so it has several variations in the original game like the standard battle theme and the final boss, so it has more impact. Speaking of that, I want dat P4 Arena remix to replace standard battle theme in this Vita version, make it happen Atlus!) and I think the style is more appropriate for the game, I mean even the song is called "Reach out to the Truth" which can be interpreted for several themes of the game. I like the animation quality of the new opening and the song isn't necessarily bad, but I think it's out of place (both musically and visually) even if P3/P4 has a lot of light-hearted Jpop.

I think I like the new one more, to be honest.

Sort of surprised they didn't go an just name the main character, though.
