Now that Commander Shepard's story has come to an end, the Mass Effect franchise can go in a number of different directions. They touched on a few galactic wars that could make interesting stories, they could look at the most recent Reaper crisis from a parallel perspective, they could also give one of the side characters their own story. Personally, I think an assassin-action game that focused on Thane would be cool. I know there are a lot of people out there that would like to see more of Mordin.

What do you guys think? Which Mass Effect 3 character would make the best spin-off game?

Tali staging a coup, overthrowing the Admiralty Board and naming herself Empress Tali'Zorah vas Normandy vas Rannoch. She then rules with an ironfist, eliminating leftover Geth resistance / rebel fighters on Rannoch. You play as Commander Shepard's biologically impossible half human / half quarian baby called Damion nar Shepard's Loins, it's been 17 years since you were born, you've joined the Quarian army and get sent into the field to become the first Quarian spectre. Potential love interests/squadmates include Aria T'Loak, Veetor, Jessica Chobot, and uhh Grunt's/Ashleys equally as impossible half human / half Krogan baby (genetic engineering FTW). Joker's dead due to a short circuit in EDI's system during an...intimate...moment, but his body was merged with EDI's and is permanently attach to the pilot's seat of your ship, the Quib Quib.

I'd have to go with Garrus, my favorite character. Maybe they could have a sort of free roam action game set on some planet where Garrus works as a mercenary. Maybe even with a futuristic Far Cry feel to it. The Thane game you mentioned could be cool too. It could be like Assassin's Creed mixed with Splinter Cell set in space.

Personally, I'd like to see them go way in the past with another trilogy. Learning more about what led up to these 3 games could be interesting.

Have you read the books? They explain much of how things happened in those. Humanity stumbling upon a Mass Relay and firing upon the Turrians which started the First Contact War which eventually settled with a peace treaty. That war is also how Rear Admiral Jon Grissom became famous (Kahlee Sanders is his daughter, former love (possibly rekindled in ME3) interest of David Anderson (Yes, THAT Anderson). Also goes into how Anderson almost became a spector, Saren becomes evil and how Cerberus turns into what they become. They eventually merge into the games and run concurrently with the game trilogy. I highly recommend reading them, even the last one (Mass Effect: Deception) which is riddled with errors.

The Mass Effect comics are canon as well, and quite good too.

Hmm they have books? That's pretty cool, I'll have to look it up and see if it's worth the read.

There are like 4 books total and a tons of comics. But I might try to get into it if I ever get started on this series.

I would really like to see Miranda Lawson have her own game. When we first meet Miranda she comes off as an ice queen and it's hard to figure out exactly what her agenda is but as the story progressed the more I liked her. She was genetically engineered by her egotistical father to be perfect, although in his eyes she never achieved the super human qualities he sought. She didn't have a mother to nurture her but in the end it was the love of her sister that drove her to the humanity her father so desperately tried to keep her from developing.
I've never cared if a lead character was male or female and given the option to choose I almost always go with the male gender even though I myself am female. However it's nice to see a strong female in gaming that is presented as an integral part of the story who has the same depth and intelligence as the male lead. I would totally enjoy playing a game with Miranda Lawson as the lead playable character. There has only been one other female in gaming that I felt that about, Elena Fisher but you probably already guessed that from my avatar.

I agree I would really buy something along this line of thought. Garrus was my favorite character too. He seemd to be as big a Badass as Shepard.

Kirrahe should have some kind of spin-off at least DLC. In case you don't remember him.

As for why I just felt like he embodied the perfect military leader, and I would gladly play through a story about him and perhaps even his end. I really want to know where his life leads him.
But I would never expect this to happen because most people don't even remember him
