Well guys, it looks like we won't be able to play around the Glade of Dreams in 3D for a little while longer. Ubisoft's Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing Tony Key announced at E3 earlier this week that the 3DS version of Rayman Origins won't be hitting store shelves until November later this year.
But why so many delays? First it was set to release in March, then delayed until June, and now it's being delayed again. And this time, it's being delayed for a year after it was first released consloes. But why? The game couldn't possibly take THIS long to port, could it?
Well, Mr. Key has a pretty valid explanation for this: "We decided it wasn’t the right window. We want to better align it with the communication around the next Rayman." Key also stated that "It will probably be coinciding with the Wii U version." So it seems that Ubisoft is waiting to release this port until the launch of the Wii U and, respectively, the release of the Wii U exclusive Rayman Legends.
And from a marketing standpoint, that's understandable. The 3DS version of this game is more likely to sell when coupled with its sequel. So if you were really looking forward to the 3DS version of Rayman Origins, you'll have to settle for...well, the console version of Rayman Origins. But if you don't plan on playing any other version for whatever reason, there's a nice little demo you can download from the 3DS's eShop that might haul you over until November.
How do you feel about the delay? Did you really want to play it on your 3DS? Or do you not care because of the fact that the game is already released for consoles?

Initial previews for the 3DS version of Rayman Origins was very underwhelming. While the Vita version maintained the graphical fidelity of the game in addition to retaining the gameplay on handheld, the 3DS version paled in comparison. So naturally the extra time is used to polish up the game.
Other than 3DS only users, is there even a point to getting it a year after the original release? I mean, the console version is selling at $20 MSRP right now, it'd be difficult to justify paying $30-$40 for it come November.
