For some reason, I actually like the Stallone version (in a cheesy way).

The trailer looked like The Raid with Judge Dredd shoved in, and I doubt it will be as fun to watch. Karl Urban looks like he is doing his best Dirty Harry impression in the trailer. I haven't read the comics, so I can't really tell if he is more true to the character than Stallone was.

The reviews are only increasing my desire to see this film. I have to see it....NOW!

How are the reviews?
Honestly the more I think about it, I think it'll turn out bad. I don't really know why. Just look like a lot of good action but not as good as one would think.

Everyone is saying it's an ultraviolent, gritty, fun film. It lacks the satire of the comics but has just enough action and explosions to keep you coming back for more. Apparently, Karl Urban also makes a fantastic Judge.

I'd be interested in renting it for sure. I only go to 3-4 movies per year, so I am real selective with that. I already know I'm going to be watching the Hobbit and Star Wars next year in theaters, so that doesn't leave me much room for other things.I don't know anything at all about the character, and fortunately I never saw the Stallone version, but seeing the trailer for this made me at least a little interested in it. I doubt I'll see it in theaters unless I get really bored one day, but I'll at least watch it when it comes to DVD if nothing else.

I almost never see movies in theaters. I saw one movie in 2008, one in 2011, and I've seen a whopping two in theaters this year. It's kinda funny that the only movie I REALLY wanted to see in theaters this year was the Avengers, but it wasn't even one of the two I saw. :\
