A new Marvel vs. Capcom release is coming out, but this time, it's a little less retail and a little more digital distribution. Marvel vs. Capcom Origins is a compilation of Marvel Super Heroes and Marvel vs. Capcom: Clash of Super Heroes.
The superheroic combo releases on Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network for 1200 MSP/$14.99, and sports a few upgrades. The trailer below will probably make the HD graphic upgrades the most obvious thing, but aside from that, Marvel vs. Capcom Origins will use GGPO's services for online play, ideally decreasing the latency one would experience playing this with others, as well as eight-player lobbies and spectator modes.
Players gonna play, and when they do, they can play with dynamic challenges. Once the dust has settled from punching and kicking enemies, Marvel vs Capcom Origins allows for replays to be saved, as well as stuff to be unlocked.
All of this should look familiar with last August's release of Street Fighter III: Third Strike Online Edition, even down to the price. Instead of that August release date, however, Capcom seems keen on celebrating the two constituent games' North American console releases by giving Marvel vs. Capcom Origins a September release date.

While I don't think I'll be getting this. Well maybe later on if it is still around. Not on my top list, but I think this is awesome that they are dong this for the MvC fans out there. Great deal.

True dat. If I were a little more into fighting games, this would be a very enticing deal, because it looks pretty good, but I just can't bring myself to do it.

If they still have the license to marvel and are going to run out of it, i'd much rather get DLC for UMvC3 or an update. Eh.

This would be great if it was an X-Men: Children of the Atom/X-Men vs. Street Fighter bundle. :]

Man what's with prequels these days now? Too many of them lately. They should have started at Origins from the beginning. I don't play much fighting games, but this seems to be fun. I wish I can be good at them, but it's always frustrating to play.
