I heard of people playing for hours on end but they usually eat or drink something. Going over 40 hours with drinking or eating was very extreme. I'm surprised no one at the internet cafe tried to sell or get the guy to eat or drink something knowing he was there for all those hour. Unless he signed some release form or something, I think the cafe should have some liability in the matter. I wonder if he had type of medical condition beforehand though. Well at least he went out doing what he loved. Also, That part about him standing up, walking a feet and than collapsing reminded me of Kill Bill ending a bit.
Honestly he had to have some kind of condition. Your body can survive without eating or drinking for at least 3 days. I'm pretty sure of that. You'll be super malnourshied and dehydrated afterward thought but 40 hours I think is survivable. But then again, each person body do react differently. Maybe his limit is 40 hours.

Not necessarily true. I don't think it had anything to do with not eating or drinking. If he had been in a seated position without getting up to allow the blood to circulate, it is possible for the blood to clot and then when he did get up, the clot could come loose and flow to his brain/heart and kill him that way. It's happened before.Honestly he had to have some kind of condition. Your body can survive without eating or drinking for at least 3 days. I'm pretty sure of that. I really think that they should change how things are done with the cafes over there to prevent this.

Yea I guess I never took a blood clot into account. Well then, lesson learned, take a DVT prophylaxis before you game for 40 hours plus.

It's hard to believe that something like this could happen so take a break every few hours and get some food and stretch out a bit. Happy Gaming!!

I once played Morrowind for 40 hours straight and I think it permanently altered my brain. I know people who have gone on even longer binges.

This article is both sad and alarming. It's sad that someone can spend so much time inside of a Virtual world and not recognize your basic responsibilites as a human. We as gamers, must always remember to keep equality between our gaming lifes and also be active in the real world. It's never a good thing to devote ALL of you time to gaming. Be responsible about it.

Honestly, if I could I probably would game from 8am-2am hahaha. With that said, real life takes pripority over virtual reality.

As much as I like to game exercise and moderation are both virtues that every gamer should employ in there lives. I like to think I have set a better example for my son to do the same.
Shoot, I'm going to get my kids to play some games with me

Yeah Cobra but my kid would play 24/7 and be a statistic if I didn't regulate his gaming habits...hummm wonder where he gets that from? lol
Haha. I'll just have my wife regulate them and I'll be the cool parent
