So... The Last Story is coming out in less than ten days in the US (or August 14th, if you rather). Anyone planning on picking it up? And don't forget, pre-ordering gets you a neat little seven track soundtrack (I'm pretty sure the artbook comes with all first run copies, pre-order or not).
I'm excited for this game... it just seems fun. Let's see those comments about everyone else being excitedbecause no one's allowed to be a hater because it's (potentially?) another success of Operation Rainfall!

I had it preordered at Amazon, then canceled and now re-pre-ordered from Newegg (because of the $10 off). So it looks like I'll be picking this one up! Now to go dust off my Wii...

I should but I'm not, at least not at launch. My PS3 backlog is just way to big right now. I have 3 weeks off school so I'm trying to clean out my backlog for the Fall.

I'm picking it up! Even though I probably won't end up playing it for years, I want to show support for these games on the Wii. It's the least I can do to help that maybe we can get more things like it on Wii U in the future. Or 3DS. It does look good, and so did Xenoblade, but I've still yet to play that either. If it weren't for opening it to get the Club Nintendo code mine would probably still be shrinkwrapped until like 2015

Who would want something that looks so awful? I mean seriously, I've never seen a lower quality looking rpg since Quest 64!
Yeah, I preordered it. I for some reason am expecting disappointment since my expectations are (were?) kind high for it. I wanted it much more than Xenoblade personally... which I still haven't touched yet despite owning it *loses respect from every JRPG fan*.

Glad to see all the positive answers, even if you're not planning to pick it up right away. 
I, too, have a ginormous backlog, but I've since given up on keeping it down, so I'm pre-ordering soon! xD
@barrel - Really, my boyfriend expects the same. He's just been wanting it for SO LONG, and it looks really cool, that he's bracing for it to not be as great as he expects... kinda like what happened with Blue Dragon for him.

Funny story about that... I should have had it yesterday, but the people in my leasing office decided to close an hour early... and actually locked the door in my boyfriend's face. When he knocked they just glared and didn't let him in. So no Last Story AND the people running our apartments are jerks.

Just got my copy at GameStop bwahaha.
The packaging is absolutely amazing. I love that it looks like a book and the embossing on the cover adds a lot. The art booklet is also very pretty.
XSEED did a fantastic job with all of that. Now just to pop it in my Wii, play, and review! Bought a classic controller pro, too, just for the occasion :3

I thought that package from before was The Last Story, but it was something else. xp The package I got TODAY was it, and I'm in LOVE with the box. It's just so lovely!
Now to put that pretty box away, throw the game on the shelf, and not play it for months. Darn not having a Wii of my own (and other people wanting to play it)! xD
