According to a Nikkei report that was translated by Andriasang, Nintendo wants to bring back other gaming companies' titles onto the 3DS in order to build a better, stronger library. One in particular that was made an example is the popular and best-selling Seaman. Yoot Saito, who created the Dreamcast title, suggested around two years ago that it was possible Seaman could appear on the 3DS.
What exactly is Seaman, though, for those of you that are wondering? Although it's a pretty simple concept, it might seem a little weird. It's basically a pet-raising sim where you take care of fish-like creature with a human face. The game also took advantage of the Dreamcast's microphone attachment. There was also a sequel, Seaman 2, where you rear a 20-centimeter tall Peking man instead of a fish. Seaman 2 was not brought outside of Japan.
It's really great to see Nintendo reviving old games like these as newer, fresher forms on the 3DS.
What other older games and/or series besides Seaman would you like to see brought back onto the 3DS?
