Zombie games seem to have mostly worn out their welcome with gamers. Still, the interest in Lollipop Chainsaw is pretty huge, and for good reason. How many zombie games have featured a woman as the lead character? How many of them have been kick butt cheerleaders? Anyway, it looks like the game is going to be pretty wild.
In case you had any doubt about just how different this game was going to be, a Japanese trailer has just been released. Take a look:
In this latest trailer we're introduced to a whole host of characters. There are apparently two other ladies involved in the zombie fight, named Cordelia and Rosalind. Then we get to see the various nefarious enemies who they will cross paths with. Oh, there's also zombie basketball and a host of other strange gameplay segments shown. Also, the alternate costumes shown in the trailer are Japanese pre-order bonuses, so don't expect to deck Juliet out in them (unless they're released as DLC for us later).
No one is going to complain that Lollipop Chainsaw is just another zombie game. The question is: Do you want to play it?

Onechanbara with a chainsaw instead of swords. I doubt the game will really be that great.

The game looks rather ridiculous but in a fun, stylized kinda way. Not sure if I'll pick it up when it's released. Maybe, I'll buy it when it's on sale or borrow it from a friend.
That being said I do look forward to seeing more gameplay or more in depth reviews of the game when it's released. Would be cool to see how well it is received...

No I don't think I'll be playing this ever. The "style" of the game doesn't really appeal to me. I guess I like more subdued games where there aren't half-naked women screetching with their high-pitched squeals in Japanese. Of course it's supposed to be over-the-top and ridiculous, and it's a style that almost makes fun of itself. However, I can't get past the fact that their attire is completely impractical, except maybe latex girl's if she would just zip it up!

I'm so so sick of zombie games, but this is my darling Suda51's baby and it has a hot chick as the main character, so I will forgive him and yell at the retailer of my choice to take my money when this comes out.
That said, this trailer is kickass and I love the alternate costumes.
