I mean, like I said before people just need to get past the part where it deals with Abe Lincoln, to compare it on any level to the value of Snakes on a Plane is a bit unfair. Snakes is supposed to be ridiculous and over the top - dumb...This movie I believe is supposed to be serious, just a cool spin on a historical figure or so I've been told. I mean if the movie ends up being garbage than by all means, don't watch it! But at least wait till some reviews are out that confirm/deny your feelings of the movie.
Also, just wanted to point out that I am no way a fan of this film, it just looks interesting to me. I just never really understood why people are so quick to judge something from just the title or because it takes a different spin on an idea or event/series of events. I guess another similar thing is the flack "Cowboys and Aliens" received, solely based on the title. I remember when I was in the theater and people were kind of cheering or going "woohoo" through the trailer...then the title popped up and literally half the theater burst out into laughter. Granted that movie wasn't really that great but that's a separate issue.
Seems like half the time people complain because "Hollywood" just does remakes/garbage popcorn action flicks and what not. Then when they go and do something more creative people go "Omg this is dumb!!? Why?!, Stick to making good stuff Hollywood". So what exactly do people want
I mean even the movie the Raven is getting flack because "Poe never hunted serial killers, this is blasphemy on his name and tarnishes who he was, garbage!"
/end rant...sorry >.<
