Not sure if any of you guys have seen (or care for that matter) anything about the new One Piece games coming next month.

As the first One Piece game for the PlayStation 3, the title is retailing for 8,190 yen (about US$105). There is also a 12,390-yen (US$159) Treasure Box edition with a book of designs and visual art, 15 pin badges, and an original soundtrack CD. Still another edition bundles a gold-colored PlayStation 3 console, with the One Piece lead character Luffy in white on the top, for 38,170 yen (US$489).

Is anyone here a big enough fan of One Piece to import such a pricey game? Do any of you guys import stuff at all for that matter? (Oh hey, new thread idea) We've gotten One Piece games here in the past, most recently on the Wii (Unlimited Adventure) but they usually sold poorly and the sequel to Unlimited Adventure didn't even get released here. Do you think we have a chance at getting this? I mean, we've gotten a lot of Naruto and Dragon Ball games this generation already, a Bleach game, and hell, even a Fist of the North Star game!

I was never a big fan of One Piece, but I would kill for a good Bleach open world action game.

I don't know much about One Piece, but I might look into it. I love anime and definitely love Japanese games.

I love One Piece. Unlike some people, the ear-raping first dub didn't keep me from enjoying it as a whole.

I know there is a lot of passionate fans of the series, but I always got discouraged from reading/watching the series every time I looked at the episode or chapter count. And I dunno, even as a game I can't say I'm interested (unlike the Ninja Storm games for Naruto), since Musou games don't do much for me nowadays.

Wow, $800? That is not worth it. I am a fan of onepiece, started reading the manga and am no where near caught up. I'll definitely check out the game when the prices are cheaper. But I wouldn't buy this. $800 is so much.

Definitely not worth $800, but kind of cool looking nonetheless. Maybe if it was actually gold.

This remind me of zelda skyward sword and how nintendo came out with a gold edition too. I have a gold n64 controller, man that controller was a piece of junk.

Well, the import price is $800, the Japanese MSRP is somewhere around $500 I think. Considering I paid almost that for my first PS3 it's not THAT crazy.

$300 just for importing? That seems pretty ridiculous to me. I know you have to pay a little extra to import but not in the hundreds. I would just spend the extra money on supplies and mod the console myself.

I spent a lot for my ps3 too. But honestly thinking back, it is ridiculous, considering a slim 320gb now is like $200-$300 that you can get with a bundle?

I would buy that in a heartbeat if I had 800. That is an amazingly awesome system and I would probably enjoy the game too. Sadly, importing this game costs like 90 via play-asia... so I will wait to see if it goes down. I doubt we will get it here. It looks freakin sweet, though.

We get a lot of Bleach, Naruto, DBZ because HUB, Nicktoons and Cartoon Network show them. We've gotten the GBA/GC/1x Wii One Piece games... but not having gotten the second and the diminished interest stateside for the series means we probably wont get it here.

Wow that limited edition is overpriced but looks pretty cool. I enjoy the One Piece series. Probably the most out of the current main stream anime.
Too bad there is no 360 version, this and the Gundam are the only Musou games that I am slightly interested in. A little too button mashy for me ^^

While the LE console won't make it Stateside, it looks like the game itself will!

I really want to get this game. I like reading one piece and it looks like the game takes you from the beginning till what it currently is. I like that you can play all the characters. Fans of the manga should definitely get the game.

It's great that this is coming. The downside though, is that if you're looking for the U.S. version, you can only get that download style over psn. The EU version will still be in disc form though.

If that's true I might import.

Is there any difference in the EU version? Will it play fine on my ps3? If nothing is different and it plays fine I'll just try to order an EU version.

Unfortunately, it's true. It's in Namco's official presser for the game.
